I'm all for Chevy getting a Lambda. The market has the potential to become too big for Chevy not to get a slice of the pie. However, before they can lay their hands on a Lambda SUV, I think the following conditions need to be met first:

1) They get a true homerun in the passenger car market. Something that will cut the Camry's legs out from under it. Something that destroys the Camry in every reliablility, quality, and appeal study. This is where Chevy really needs to be focusing-not on another SUV.

2) They get a truly competitive minivan. The minivans will be based on the Lambdas, so how about instead of a Lambda SUV, why not just a Lambda minivan?Something that blows the Odyssey, Sienna, Sedona, etc. out of the water.

and

3) If Chevy does get a Lambda SUV, it should look nothing (or at least vaguely, vaguely similar) like the Saturn, GMC, and Buick. No more badge engineering, please.

CHEVY does need a DROP DEAD minivan.......and i think they are quietly and probably slowly working on one. it could have two fine engines for minivan use.....the 3.6 and the 5300 v8. Imagine the soaring sales on a minivan with the fuel efficient and powerful small block!

Dodge is apparently planning the Hemi for usage in the next Minivans so I say why not use a small block, though the 280 ish HP the 3.6 V6 will offer will be more than enough for most soccer moms.

Also as far as I know Chevy will get the Lambda Van first and possibly, as in next decade, the GMT360 TB will be replaced by a Lambda crossover van.

If/when Chevy does get a Lambda CUV I hope it is a shorter wheelbase and offers only seating for 5, something to make it different than GMC.

A minivan with a V8...I've thought about it, and if it can get good enough fuel economy, I can see GM picking up some sales from other minivan makers.

That is, if we don't have another Uplander on our hands...
