February 11, 20233 yr Kicking this off mid month since I did not see anyone else start a February thread. Saw a rather dirty but new GMC Hummer EV Truck. Was really surprised how tall and big it is. Thought it was the same length as my 2006 Escalade ESV which is 221 inches long and the GMC Hummer EV Truck is 217 inches long, so only a 4 inch difference between the autos. Very cool looking and I love the stance.
February 13, 20233 yr Been wintry so far this month, haven't seen much interesting so far...but the last few days have been unseasonably mild... yesterday saw a sharp silver C8 convertible w/ the top open blasting up I-90 (sunny and 40 or so out). On the way back to the CLE I got passed by a sinister black BMW X6M coupe going 100 or more... I went to the beach yesterday, sunny and 35 at Lake Erie...walked across the sand and down the to the water...didn't dip my toes in, but had to see and hear the surf...beautiful blue sky. No clouds. Even cold there is beauty on the lake. I had to get out of the house and get to the water, my sister keeps sending me ocean pics from her winter condo in SC... Here's a couple tranquil lake pics...the sky was that clear and blue...determined not to hibernate inside this winter. Edited February 13, 20233 yr by Robert Hall
February 13, 20233 yr Author Up skiing yesterday, saw my first Rivian R1T bringing the family to the pass for a fun day.
February 16, 20233 yr Yesterday was the first nice day we've had in a loooong while with sunny weather and 70 degrees, and the cars were out for it. I was on the motorcycle, so I couldn't snap pics. I spotted: Early 70s Delta Eighty-Eight Convertible Mid-80s Buick Grand National 90-91 Seville STS in red and gorgeous condition, lookin like this but the brighter red they offered: Subaru SVX Early 80s Ninety-Eight Old Beetle convertible original Toyota MR2

February 23, 20233 yr Author Saw tonight a 1978 Indy 500 pace corvette at the shell station as I was passing by, looked very clean, a boomer was gassing it up, but surprised that with the snow coming down, he had taken it out for a spin. I have to say that while they had their issues, still to this day, this is one of my favorite body designs for the corvette, t-tops and all. I will say that the only thing I wish Chevrolet had done is what you find on custom corvettes from this generation, the built in aerodynamic lights like this 1980 custom stingray. Learned that famed Corvette designer Bill Mitchell was involved in this custom stingray. Cherry 1980 Stingray Has Just 700 Miles Since 1982 Restomod (95octane.com)
February 26, 20233 yr Went to the Cleveland Auto Show today, did some car spotting. Was fun. Liked the C8s…they had an orange Z06, gray e-Ray and a silver convertible. The ‘24 Mustang Dark Horse looked good. Sat in the Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve..very nice interior. With the center console, felt tighter than my '14 GC. I like the interior materials, though the piano black on the center console would be covered in fingerprints easily. Sat in the Cadillac Lyriq--very striking design. I like it..bigger than it looks in photos. Sat in the CT5 and CT4, very nice. The CT5 C-pillar has grown on me, though the new Civic has the same C-pillar trim. The BMW XM was ghastly in person. The auto show was dull overall compared to past years, too many huge ugly trucks and boring CUVs… Edited February 26, 20233 yr by Robert Hall
