I don't understand the companys plan at this point. Exactly how do they expect to make money?

They should contribute the bonus cash instead to the employee's 401(k) plan account. That way it avoids current income tax and avoids FICA tax entirely - for both the employee and GM. Every little bit helps.

It's fine since the employees used to get the employee price plus the discounts anyways. It's not like they're giving this to the general public. GM announced it was ending Employee Pricing For Everybody at the end of Sept. anyways.

No, they actually announced that they were ending it. Before it was just "ends August 3rd" or whatever. This time they actually told the dealers they are ending it.

GM employees have been shortchanged on buying GM vehicles for several months now. This new deal is slightly better than what was offered before, but it's not anything to get too excited about, especially since it only applies to a few vehicles. Employees should be a lot happier next month when the "empoyee pricing for all" program is over and real employee pricing is back.

I'm seriously interested in an '06 Cobalt SS Supercharged and have been for quite sometime. This Employee + promotion is too much for me. It's good that the Solstice will ring in below this price considering the fine folks at Causley promised below MSRP on my Sol.

Whoopie, I'll try not to trip over myself trying to get to the dealership.. :rolleyes: I think the employees already have enough cars right now.. Heck, it's going to be a few years before I buy the Cobalt... (unless the "freshening" is better, which in case, I'll wait till 08) I don't think it is going to enough to drag employees on in....
