June 24, 200619 yr I was so happy to see this: http://news.yahoo.com/s/eo/20060624/en_tv_...HNlYwN5bmNhdA-- Futurama will be back (with Billy West, John Dimaggio and Katey Segal) on Cartoon Network in 2008. While the Simpsons have really lost their bite, Futurama was just hitting its stride when FOX assured that it would fail by pre-empting with crappy football, changing dates and times to a point where fans had no idea if it was going to be on or not. All right! It's Saturday night, I have no date, a two liter bottle of Shasta and my all-Rush mix tape, let's rock!
June 24, 200619 yr Hopefully, old Groening will ditch the Simpsons. I mean, I love the show, but it's really lost it's novelty. There's also a few Direct-to-DVD movies coming out soon, too, right?
June 24, 200619 yr Hopefully, old Groening will ditch the Simpsons. I mean, I love the show, but it's really lost it's novelty. I hate to, but I agree. When I watch the newer episodes, I feel like I'm doing an old friend a favor - I don't want to watch his stupid fastball tournament, but he did help me move last month. From inception to mid-life, however, Simpsons cannot be topped. Homer running the union, Mr. Sparkle, "Premium, dude, premium!!", "I choo-choo-choose you!", Willie = Iraqi fighter jet, "This isn't Moe's Tavern its...Bo's...Cavern," Sideshow Bob and the rakes, "No, I said steamed hams" "Turn out your pockets, man. *gasp* ATOMS!" and a million and one other classic lines and gags that will never be matched, replicated, or surpassed. I'd rather see my favorite show be put out to pasture while it still has its self-respect.
June 24, 200619 yr Author I checked BillyWest.com and I did not see any news about the status of the direct to DVD Futurama movies, but he did say that they start recording in July for the new stuff.

Anyway, I have no idea why they cancelled Futurama in the first place. That was as bad as cancelling Family Guy.

Hmmm...well, it's all Adult Swim has been pitching for the past few weeks. ...but he did say that they start recording in July for the new stuff. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's less than a week's time.
