"In Retrospect: Rare Concepts"

Featured Replies

I thought I'd make a special edition of "In Retrospect" to show you a rare concept from Chrysler's defunct Eagle brand. This little oddity has been plucked from the internet instead of the vast "Car & Driver" archives normally used.

Beware. It's got some Jazz.

And while were at it, why not take a look at one big bastard of a truck that should've been in "Twister"?

Never even heard of it until now.

Now I feel like an ass for the way I branded the thread. :duh:

Eh you could go back and change it to "A Look at One of Eagle's Concept Cars".

We can't each be expected to know every thing about every car company.

Cool find, though, both of you.

Noted and thank you. :)

You know, I miss the old Concept section from the old forums. We need a section for stuff like this.

The Eagle Optima was the first glimpse of the original LH cars and the Jazz led to the 300M.

...which was intended to succeed the Vision.

Both of those are still nice concepts-they look semi-modern today-I would've liked to see Eagle spread its wings and grow its beak, so to speak.

Me too. Chrysler always has had major issues with branding. Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth and Eagle all have sold essentially the same vehicles with virtually no differentiation. Is Dodge sporty or basic? Is Chrysler a Chevy and Ford competitor, or is it near-lux? What the hell is Plymouth? Is Eagle sporty or quirky? At least Jeep has been fairly consistent.

Now that Chrysler Corp. has been integrated within DCX, DCX needs to straighten out its branding, Stat!

So fiscally responsible. :D

The Jazz was a cool concept in its day... esp. with its Bugatti style rims.
