Daewoo Winstorm = Chevrolet S3X?

It's described as a "small 7 seat SUV".

That doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, as any 7 seater vehicle can't be that small. How many 7 seaters does Chevy need? They've got the Tahoe, the Suburban, the Trailblazer, the upcoming Lambda... If the next Equinox is also a 7 seater it would seem like GM has given up on small and medium sized SUVs.

At $4.50 a gallon up here in the Tundra, I am all for sexy, small SUVs. As the Rav4 and others get larger, it would be nice to have a small SUV to replace the Tracker.

Of course, pricing and power plants would be crucial. The problem with the Optra is that it is under powered and the automatic is awful.

This vehicle will do well here, if priced right and if it is at least a little fun to drive.

It's the vehicle to be sold elsewhere as the Chevrolet Captiva (production S3X), a lower D-segment crossover similar in size to the new 7-seat Santa Fe and Mitsubishi Outlander. The "midsize" CX-7 and Highlander aren't much bigger and the current Highlander probably doesn't offer as much room in the third row. Although based on the same wheelbase the next Vue (Opel Antara) is a good deal shorter, closer to the North American RAV4.

With the sliding second row forward, I found the 3rd row in the Highlander to be comfortable. Anything less would be for small trips only.
