I was walking to my 12:40 class today when I noticed green clouds moving in a swirling motion. I got to my class just as the wind was starting to pick up and the rain was beginning. A few people were behind me and I tried holding the door open but the wind was so strong that it kept blowing shut. I figured it was just a really strong thunderstorm, but it turns out that a weak tornado touched down in the center of campus with 83 mph winds. Eight people were injured by falling tree branches. Lots of trees are down but there is minimal damage to buildings. People came into class completely soaked and covered in dirt since there was dirt from a construction site nearby blowing all around. Crazy. I wish I had my camera with me at the time...the swirling green clouds were unreal.

Important safety tip. When you see clouds that are green, swirling, or green and swirling, take cover. I don't know what it is, but when clouds turn green, there is always something nasty afoot.

I want to witness a Tornado. Always have. I think it would be cool to see... I'm fascinated with them. I sometimes wish one would go through my house... Yes, I'm wierd. Way back in... 74? 76?... I forget, but one about a mile wide hit my Grandpa's, and my mom's former, house. I love hearing the story... and seeing the pics...

I haven't gotten hit by a Toronado yet, but with my luck lately, I expect to be hit by one soon.

When metro-Detroit got hit a few years back we had a Toronado go through our town. It toppled trees and caused the normal headaches that and F1 toronado would. It was odd to say the least.
