June 30, 200619 yr Meet Saab's '07 9-3 While the 9-3's exterior carries over largely unchanged, it's interior recieves a moderate facelift for the '07 model year. The initial interior image posted last month was met with almost universal disapproval here on C&G. Luckily, further examination of the below images reveals a much-less "GMified" interior than earlier photos suggested. The lower-dash no-longer resembles a Casio and that black-tie radio certainly isn't the one out of your Cobalt. Have a look for yourself (56k Warning). -------------------- Aero http://isaab.net/img/9-3/2007/001.jpg http://isaab.net/img/9-3/2007/002.jpg Vector http://isaab.net/img/9-3/2007/003.jpg Linear http://isaab.net/img/9-3/2007/004.jpg
June 30, 200619 yr Well now the one with the Navigation system is very nice indeed. The others are ok also but a little plain. I still miss the previous design because it looked like you had a lot of controls to work with. I like that sometimes and when a car seems like it lacks buttons you feel like you don't have extra features.
June 30, 200619 yr I told everyone to chill. Anyway, look at it this way: you can now switch radio stations without running off the road.
June 30, 200619 yr Well there goes the 'cockpit'. SAAB drivers I know love their buttons, so it'll be interesting to see how this plays out. This kinda takes away the quirkiness.
June 30, 200619 yr It's starting to grow on me a little... just a little. I knew that the radio/HVAC controls were slightly different just by looking at that one photo a few months ago but I really wish they would use a different design. GM needs to get different suppliers for different brands or at least get them to produce different designs because they're too similar. Edited June 30, 200619 yr by Cadillacfan
June 30, 200619 yr Anyway, look at it this way: you can now switch radio stations without running off the road. Well I did tell people to calm down in the previous thread and that it wouldn't be all that bad, but as usual on C&G the melodramatics had to have their little flip out on how GM is failing, Lutz sucks, SAAB is being castrated...etc.
June 30, 200619 yr I welcome the button reduction. Though I'm starting to agree with Cadillacfan. The "black tie" radio is cool, but there needs to be more variety or it will die quickly and painfully. Crap, give us the same exact functionality out of something that looks completely different. Is that too difficult?
June 30, 200619 yr The Nav looks better, but the regular radio is still a no. It IS the one from the other GM cars, just that the power symbol replaced with ON OFF.

June 30, 200619 yr As long as it improves SAAB's sales it's OK with me. In fact it does look better than the '06.
July 19, 200619 yr It looks like the Linear looses it's boost gauge… 166589[/snapback] Yeah, I noticed that. Is it because there is no turbo, or they just wanted to cut costs? First off, there needs to be a turbo in ALL SAABS. Second, if they are just cutting costs, with the volume SAAB brings, that is not a prosperous cost cutting strategy (it can't be that expensive).
