Is This The New Vette?
Beat me to it.

Rural or Urban?
I'd expect that in a bedroom state for NYC and Philly....

Road Test: Mercedes R500
That's my point though, it's not a minivan....more like a tall wagon. It doesn't have the sliding doors or stubby hood characteristic of minivans either.

Car Spotting
Oh yeah, spotted the very first R-class on the street yesterday.

Rural or Urban?
This should be a poll (with "suburban" added to the list)

Food You Just Cannot Tolerate
I don't eat pig, beef, shellfish, or catfish...that's a given. Ethnically, Korean food just smells awful (judging from folks that run swap meet booths and eat that as their lunch)....absolutely ferocious, so I'm not up for eating it.

Food People Don't Like But You LOVE
Can't convince many people to get into Ethiopian food, or even falafel.

Car Spotting
Also: A Fairmont kinda hollowed out until it's a Ranchero sort of thing. I think I've seen this conversion before...and it had that Mustang hood scoop on it. This same parking lot where I was eating at had Lincoln Town Car L's, with both the old (at the B-pillar) and new (at the rear quarter window) extended doors. LBNL, last night, I saw a late 70s LeBaron (the version that looks like a Volare/Aspen)

Multi-manufacturer dealers
Famous Felix Chevrolet over by USC merged in the Audi/Porsche/Dodge dealer across the street, then added VW and Cadillac. Downtown L.A. Motors Mercedes further up on Washington (owned by the same group) has also sold Nissans for years. That's not as goofy. But I'm waiting for the day when there is a serious Mercedes/Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge store.

SEMA G6 Coupe
The spoiler is cool with me....it needs something heavyhanded and bold to roughen the car up a little....but I prefer the stock grille.

G6 and GP sedans actually can fit adults!!
Bumping around a National rental lot today, I decided to sit in the backs of the G6 and GP sedans, to see if I was right about how I felt when I sat in one at a dealer. Turns out that, without moonrooves, the headroom back there actually ain't half bad. Same with the GP...I actually still had a harder time in the back of the new Impala, even without moonroof, than I did in the GP. So maybe it's simply that GM really needs to work on making their retractable rooves take less headroom. I don't know, I need to test that theory with a base STS....

Car Spotting
Quite a few to report: -silver Commander (it's quite slick in person) -black Lightning -silver CLS55 AMG with beautiful 20s and cross-drilled rotors, dropped tightly -cobalt blue 06 Civic sedan -AWD STS Northstar -yellow Triumph TR7 under a tarp -Silverado Crew Cab lifted way up in the air, with 16 shocks Among other stuff I forgot.

When is National Coming-Out Day usually?

What did each car replace?
You know, Razor? This weird hatred/misunderstanding of four-door cars reminds me a lot of how the musclecar crowd thinks. Like only two-door cars have the right to be considered worth anything.

My very popular MP3 mailer
Well, Six, you gotta have something to put on those minidiscs and CD-Rs.

Car Spotting
Saw the first Fusion not on a dealer lot this week...black SEL....definitely slick with those wheels.

People From C&G You Want To Meet
As long as that Supra packs a heavily massaged 2JZ-GTE, I'm all for it.

My very popular MP3 mailer
Just so you know, it's a lot of albums and singles, popular today, and classics.... No, no rock.....but a lot of soul, funk, and Hip-Hop from the 70s to now.....

Stros and Pale Hose
There's plenty of brothers playing....they just aren't Americans, that's all.... It is what it is...Blacks in this country are simply more interested in basketball and football...that's gonna take major work to redirect. They really have a problem with every other American race too....whites are the only Americans that really play serious baseball...Asians seemingly could give two turds about sports in general, and American Latinos don't place much of a premium on aiming for the pros. I would love to see an American Asian or Latino in the NBA for sure.

What did each car replace?
Answers: 1. Chevy Celebrity - Malibu (it was the new A-body) 2. Toyota Camry - Corona 3. Toyota Avalon - Cressida (funny, because I figured the GS was the actual replacement) 4. 95 Nissan 200SX - Sentra coupe (but the one car replacing two theory jibes as well if the NX is considered) 5. Ford Windstar - Aerostar 6. Mazda 323 - GLC 7. VW Passat - Quantum in this market 8. Chevy Cavalier - Monza 9. Mitsubishi Eclipse - this may have been a bad question, because I figured it a Starion replacement, but a case prob. could be made for 3000GT 10. Ford Maverick - Falcon 11. Ford Escort - Pinto 12. Honda del Sol - CRX (the Civic coupe was kinda considered the other) 13. VW Corrado - Scirocco 14. Chevy Monza - Vega 15. Chevy Citation - Nova 16. Olds Aurora - Toronado 17. Geo Metro - Sprint 18. Mitsubishi Diamante - Sigma 19. Olds Achieva - Cutlass Calais 20. Ford Taurus - LTD Bonus: The Beretta was considered to replace the Camaro..the styling cue that evolved from the Camaro was the taillight arrangement. It also shared the ducktail deck and hood carving. The dragstrrip crowd obviously wasn't havin' it, so the Camaro stayed.

classic RWD Honda
Honda would be cold to make a modern retro version built twice as large with a 3.6L V-6 and the same proportions and H hood...
