  1. since our elected government does not have monetary policy powers, that effects all sorts of economic problems. we don't need to have a balanced trade with china, but we certainly need to "get back to work" here, at fair prices, meaning a free market. no altering subsidies, no quotas, sound money. your deal about cost of living increases..., technology is supposed to increase quality of life, either through lower prices or better goods. since we've delved into economics let me post the 5 points on inflation for people not in the political forum. 1. By committing itself to an inflationary or deflationary policy a government does not promote the public welfare, the commonweal, or the interests of the whole nation. It merely favors one or several groups of the population at the expense of other groups. 2. It is impossible to know in advance which group will be favored by a definite inflationary or deflationary measure and to what extent. These effects depend on the whole complex of the market data involved. They also depend largely on the speed of the inflationary or deflationary movements and may be completely reversed with the progress of these movements. 3. At any rate, an expansion results in misinvestment of capital and over-consumption. It leaves the nation as a whole poorer, not richer. 4. Continued inflation must finally end in the crack-up boom, the complete breakdown of the currency system. 5. Deflationary policy is costly for the treasury and unpopular with the masses. But inflationary policy is a boon for the treasury and very popular with the ignorant. Practically, the danger of deflation is but slight and the danger of inflation tremendous. and now the Chinese central bank is looking at when would be a good time to decouple from the dollar. http://www.marketwatch.com/story/china-central-bank-chief-yuan-policy-to-change-2010-03-07?dist=beforebell to the OP. Cairo Il is ~30 mins away and know a few people my age from there too.... it was to be a great hub of commerce ...even 40 years ago, but .. the riots/unrest caused it to collapse prolly as much as anything else. the town i live in has been stagnant as far as official population counts for about 20 years

  5. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1254619/Baby-girl-survives-shot-chest-parents-global-warming-suicide-pact.html what a story to tell others when you grow up.... I'm so ganster i survived a gunshot while i still an infant. it's really not funny, actually.

    hope you're doing well.
  8. anyone hear about the baby girl that survived 3 (pretty sure) days after being shot by parents that killed their other 2 kids and themselves, and supposedly did this because somehow they related it to global warming?
  9. happy birthday!
  10. Duesenburg. just to have something to really challenge "sport-lux" segment/brands. and force them to up their game in styling. bently is up there but style wise i've not seen any progression it seems.
  11. dfelt... but more room means bigger and heavier... even though the average height from 1900's till now surely has gotten higher...

capitlaism Cad (31) tonk and yours are the only ones i've not heard of. unless we have a different regional name.
  13. just for a solid example sounds like what you're referring to is the RX cars. the autos have a lower redline, mid 7000s?... lower HP #s.... the manuals go up to almost 9k and have a higher output.

not including any child's games like go fish or war, what are the ones you know, favorites? 10 point pitch euchre spades golf pinochle poker to an extent, but not fun if you're not playing for something, like money. chips can be fun. but when you have, even $5 in coins makes it fun, for the winner. what kind of card games do you like?
  15. saw this in the local B.K. it is sad and seems crazy of them to do such things.
  16. why'd you even put this with out noting curb weight? or actual power too.... the cobalt ss beets the jag xf..... just throwin that out there, like you did. LOL
  17. yes, and before those improvements it is roughly 10% bigger than a 3.5L. just like how the new 5.5L will compete very well against ford's 5.0L. that would show how not dead CIB v6's can be. but that's prolly not the future.
  18. that sucks. could a cheap beater work? or is rental too much, no friends to loan her a car, or drive her around?
  19. i'm curious how fast the Seagate is with HDtach... to compare with a WD black. even though mine is a 640gb model. don't push the chip far... you'll prolly run out of power before you run out of OC headroom.

mouse over comment is "i suppose it's more accurately a hare dryer"
  21. i agree, the only thing you have shown to not be very feasible, yet, on a CIB engine is HCCI and ....... is it cam profile changing? when physical cams are no longer needed then the discussion will change/simplify. until then, GM needs to focus on proven tech and keep working on HCCI for the 4 and 6 cylinder engines, move that tech into the smaller more economical 3 cyl that should be for volt 2.0. although i will always be curious about "what if" all this tech was put into a v6, in the range of high 2L to ~the 3.9L CIB engine. gm just needs a bigger v8 for HD trucks... and maybe for the corvette.
  22. take care. don't let trouble find you. hehe
