Finally, independant rear suspension! 79" wide track and 110" wheelbase will make it very stable and should give good handling and allow easy drifting. I'm sure serious Drag Racers will slip an axle in there no problem if turbos and high horsepower is your thing and you need more strength. But I have been waiting so long for a proper muscle car that can show BMWs and Porsches a clean pair of heels around a circuit too. So thanks to GM for building a proper car. Just hurry up and build the sucker! I guess that if they say it is for 2009 model year, then it will be out mid 2008, judging by usual American new model releases. If they build a ZL1 427 version of the Camaro concept I might just be tempted to swap my new C6 Z06 for one....

Not sure if the runflats on the Z06 are different to those on the stock LS2 C6 (I'm sure they are, with wider arches to fill but can't be bothered to look up the numbers) but the stock car handled beautifully when I tested it at GMs media day at Circuit Ascari in Spain. As far as I am concerned, those tyres work very well indeed up to and past speeds that most drivers could ever get near to on the road. Maybe other tyres would prove slightly better, but the run flats handle fine, and leave you space in the trunk.
