  1. Nice method of trying to find the worst picture possible. It's too soon to tell if most of the pictured cars will not sell due to looks.....but I know the Caliber is a smashing success. I have a feeling the Compass will surprise everyone, and the Avenger will do really well, with the Sebring just doing O.K..
  2. Don't get too hung up on the reported pricing. I'm sure it is wrong. Why would it's pricing not fall in line with other LX's (or LY's)? This needs to compete with the Mustang and Camaro, and will be priced accordingly. Even the limited production Prowler was not really that expensive when it came out.....and that was hand built. I will say that the Challenger can be purchased for just under $30K with a V8. They will probably sell a 5.7L HEMI version for $29,999.00
  3. Yeah, because RWD American muscle cars with 500 HP aren't exciting.........
  4. Cool! I don't know what the deal is with them saying that the R/T's are already sold out at $50K a pop?? That doesn't make sense on a few levels. First, how can they sell a car that isn't even finalized, and aren't taking orders for? Second, I don't really see how it could go for $50k, even if the R/T is the 6.1L HEMI with 425 HP.......unless the R/T will have the new SRT motor that is supposed to put out over 500 HP!?.....but then will there be an SRT model that goes for more than $50K?? I doubt it.
  5. An overview of Chrysler's upcoming new technology was posted on Allpar.com news: http://www.allpar.com/news/index.php?actio...news&id=891 It discusses Chrysler's steps toward better fuel economy, including: A new series of V6's with MDS, a more powerful and economic HEMI, an automated manual ("dual-clutch") transmission, and another diesel, among other steps.
  6. I don't think the Asian Marquees needed or deserved their own subgroups. I don't care about Asian cars enough to open up every subgroup. I'll probably just avoid reading about all the Asian cars in the future.
  7. How can a car that's not even being built yet be "better put together" than anything??
  8. My original GameBoy broke, and I never even dropped it. However, it was one of the original GameBoys, and was probably even made in Japan.
  9. With a 0-60 of 7.4 sec and a 1/4 mile time of 15.7 sec, the Nitro beats or ties any other SUV in it's class in the 2007 Motor Trend SUV competition.......and guess what??......Motor Trend said it was "underpowered" too. If that's not anti-Domestic or anti-Chrysler bias, then I don't know what is? The Nitro even beats the "sporty" Mazda cx-7 in both 0-60 and 1/4, it weighs over 400 lbs more, and costs about $3K less (as tested in the 2K7 MT SUVOTY) http://www.motortrend.com/oftheyear/suv/11...uv_of_the_year/ This is a perfect example of people just repeating what they hear, instead of finding out for themselves.
  10. The Malibu is a clone of every other car in the segment. The Sebring is the only different looking one....whether you consider that a good thing or not?
  11. I was just saying to myself the other day...."man, I'm really starting to see a ton of Sebrings around". I saw a top level Sebring (dark blue) sitting in a driveway in a very rich neighbor hood (1.5 million+ houses), and thought it really looked like it belonged there. I had to look twice to make sure it was a Sebring. I don't, however, see any Nitros driving on the streets.
  12. Out of a whole family owning many Chryslers, only one minivan needed a head gasket.....and that was under warranty. Other stuff was just minor. The only transmission problem was on my sister's Stealth.....which had 120K miles and was a Mitsubishi.

Overall, the Avenger got 4.5 out of 5 stars on those reviews. Doesn't seem too negative to me.
  14. *** Updated 5/22 See first post.
  15. I would say that the new Tundra looks more like the current Ram than the Rampage concept looks like the new Tundra.
  16. Something like this?? (not my chop....just found on Allpar a while ago)
  17. My guess for most of the new vehicle. They said it would be more "cab forward" looking, and that's what the Rampage concept looks like.
  18. How many "cars" does one brand need??? Should wagons and hatches be considered "cars"??.....well they're not trucks or crossovers, so I would say they are "cars" Dodge has: Caliber Avenger Magnum Charger Viper and soon a subcompact called Hornet That will be six. How many "cars" do Saturn, Mercury, Scion, Lincoln, Pontiac, Anyone, etc. have??
  19. Maybe boring to you, but alot of these cars were kicking some V8 ass with their turbo 4's, all while getting great gas mileage too:
  20. I guess the actual "best" place to put them (for corrosion resistance) would be where the new Wrangler and the PT Cruiser has them......on the center stack: Wrangler switches:
  21. It's actually better to have them located on the console for all vehicles, and especially off-road vehicles, because on the center console the switches have much less chance of being corroded by the elements.
  22. The story I saw on the local news (yes, all domestic recalls get local news coverage) said that the air bag light would come on if there is a problem.

It's probably so you notice the turn signal better. Lights aren't as easy to notice in the daytime, and you probably can't see the turn signal as well with the DRL's on. Just a though.
