I stumbled across this forum while searching for some other related info and found this thread. Thought you might be interested in a few pitures of what I did with one of these motors based on the discussion. There are a few others in the Gallery.

Offset ground crankshaft

The 3900 crankshaft is made of forged steel and has 2.25" crank pins. I had the crank offset ground to a 3.555" stroke for a rounded 4.2L -

Modified OE manifolds for durability/longevity with the turbo.

Stock pump is larger than any of the previous 60 degree pumps although you can't see it in the picture.

The VVT was disabled by degreeing the reground camshaft in place and blocking the phaser with stops to hold the position. -

ARP head studs, Cometic MLS head gaskets. Forged H beam rods LS1 forged pistons 11:1 compression ratio. - T67 turbo, .81 turbine

Piston needed to be notched to clear the intake valve, not seen in the picture. -

The connecting rod had to be narrowed. The 3500 non VVT and 3500/3900 VVT motors all share a 2.250 crank pin diameter instead of the previous 2.00. -
