I see low mileage 2015-2016 Chevy SS already going for mid-50k On the other hand Pontiacs G8 are dirt cheap now. Cadillac V-series at least for now hold their value very well 2016 Shelby GT350 is selling for the same money when it was new

Do you guys think that named above cars will become collectibles sooner? What I mean cars from 70s are 50 years old now. I don't think there are a lot of collectible cars from 80s (besides exotics). How long will it take from some of the todays cars to become collectible? I would think it should happen sooner if EVs truly will replace ICE vehicles in the next 10-15 years.

@balthazar At one point a guy at my work had 1st gen Tacoma and he parked next a new one. The size difference was staggering. I didn't save the picture but this represents it pretty accurately.

One of the things that I think will make some cars collectibles is manual transmission. I think EVs will most likely completely kill off manual transmissions (very regretfully) and cars with good one will be desirable for future collectors.

I think at this point almost everyone agrees that EVs are coming and eventually replacing ICE vehicles. I think the only big argument left is the timeline. So the question is: Which today's automobiles do you think will be future collectibles?

Good luck! I started paying attention on my commute and I see substantially more Sierras than SIlverados, almost like 8 or 10 to 1. Not sure if it is the looks of the Silverado or some other thing.

GNX was as much sedan as the Mustang or Camaro. Yes, it was one of the fastest in the eighties in a straight line. The 13 Quickest Cars of the 1980s (caranddriver.com) It was maybe a great factory muscle car, but all they did is put a great engine in a very average car. You can buy today for $30k base Mustang GT, put for under $10k supercharger and few minor thing and it will have over 800hp easily. In a straight line it will be faster than Shelby GT350 and maybe even GT500 or many other factory cars. Does it make it a better or a great car? Maybe great value for $$ per HP but I don't think it makes it a great car. The only reason you guys are drooling over GNX because it was a "dream" car from your childhood. Which is fine, a lot of "dream" cars from that period were not very good, including much more expensive cars than the Buick.

It was one of the greatest sedans of the period, it was the fastest in the straight line, but it was one trick pony. Saying that it was the greatest car of the eighties is exaggeration, simple as that.

Here I fixed for you. David was talking about German and Asian performance auto. He didn't specify straight line or handling or whatever, so I interpreter this as a package. There were plenty of performance cars at the era that while were slower in a straight line were better in every other way.

Replaced front and rear rotors and pads on my daily. Really was due as you can see from the picture. Unfortunately, rockauto sent me wrong rear pads and I discovered that when I already disassembled the rear brakes. Had to run to local auto store to pick up whatever they had. What is really unfortunate is that I bought the parts more than 30 days ago (just couldn't find time to install) and now I can't get refund for the wrong parts. I guess live and learn. (For some reason pictures posted upside down)

I was told by nurse (and seems some internet sources say the same) that preferably to take Tylenol because Advil/ibuprofen (anti-inflammatory) prevents the vaccine doing it is job. At least in case of Pfizer/Moderna.

@David That really sucks! We have underground pipe that supplies water burst this winter but most of the damage was outside. Yours sounds like much worst problem. I hope you got a good home insurance. We eventually got most of the money back from the insurance.

I haven't seen gas outages in NJ but there were definitely long lines and people getting cans of gas "just in case". Got gas this morning at Costco before work, no line at 6am but there is sign that no more than two "approved" gas containers per transaction.

If it will be priced right, might be perfect daily/winter/light off-road vehicle for me.
