  1. W-Body has one up against G. It has been updated/refreshed at least 4 times during its 25 years of existence.
  2. Not to hijack the thread from G Klasse, but I did drive one of the 3.6L 6-speed combo Impala. It is hoot to drive and very agile for a W body. The engine-transmission combo is better than the V8 SS we had few years ago. This combo should have been offered three years ago. W-Body the best platform EVAR!!!
  3. I think he was trying to replicate this:
  4. A good proactive approach from GM.
  5. Oh, just enjoy the power in any of these cars while you can... It seems like 2015 will be a repeat of the 1970s when power just gets zapped from every car. Support your argument.
  6. Click on the 6-speed manual transmission in LT and LTZ modes - the engine will update. GM needs to fix its websites.
  7. Nope, both styles are available with 1.4T for an extra $700 for LT and LTZ trims.
  8. Jeep SV produced by VIASA under license from Willys-Kaiser. Campeador Duplex Furgon Engines - Inline 6 gas Super Hurricane 4 Cylinder Perkins Diesel
  9. Although I agree with your post in general terms, perhaps a detuned 2.0L turbo could do the base engine job? Lose a little margin on that base model's sales for some gain in brand image? Just a thought... Yes or the 1.6T from Opel producing ~210 hp would do the trick to keep three "different" engines.
  10. A power bump would have been nice.
  11. You cannot help me with the W body as it is perfect. Congrats and keep climbing.
  12. That is the non-precise, uninformed, prejudiced hypocrisy that is ruining the website. All comes out is outrage on whatever GM does even if it means more choices to the customer.
  13. Because not everyone needs or wants a race car. Why is Mercedes offering a 200hp 1.8 Turbo? Well, the 2.0 T hardly makes the ATS a 'race car'..it's still just a 4cyl. Is the new 328 a race car? That engine "only" has 240 hp from a 2 L. GM should say to BMW, "Welcome to 2006 and no you are still not there yet, as we had 260 hp from the 2 L." The 2L ecotec will be in its third iteration with the new ATS. Can BMW claim that many iterations in 6 years time frame?
  14. Why not? If it is successful it helps bringing cash, if it is not then at least GM tried. And how do you know diesel is not coming? If rumors stand true, the 2.2L diesel will already be on its way.
  15. Let me ask all of you complainers of the 2.5L engine: How many of you are actually going to buy this thing? Moreover, how many of you will actually buy an ATS? How do you guys not know that 2.5L is temporary and that as ATS expands in to EU, there will be smaller mills substituting the 2.5L? How many of you would complain if ATS does not get volume because over 65% of C class is sold in the measly 4 cylinder form? How many of you know that in EU where you quote numbers from has an Audi, a BMW, or a C class that make sub 150 hp engines and sell them in vast majority? Do you guys work inside GM and are making claims after everything is set in stone? If such is the case your inside knowledge will really really really help us create volume on this website so you guys can keep complaining. There is one thing called constructive criticism and then there is other thing about Bitching Moaning and Whining of everything that GM is making. I personally do not like the 2.5L, nor the 3.6L for the ATS. The car should be set apart with Turbos only. But then again, I will possibly buy a ATS-V not vanilla car when I am in market. That does not mean I will B M W about the rest of the line up.

    Maximus is ready.

Still a Facebook virgin and loving every moment of it.
  18. Are you kidding me. Those overhangs when parked right onto the curb looked like an innocent child placing his chin on the side of the table. They were design standards now emulated by the SL. It is end of GM with end of W body. It is like taking the heart away from a human. GM is dead. I am going to buy Hyundai Sonata Turbo (after I buy all models of W bodies - twice, need parts cars)
  19. I am in ambivalence with the 2.5. In someways it represents beancountering, but at the same time, I see a smaller lo-po engine with emphasis on "fuel economy" a selling point. May be GM should have employed an Opel 1.6T and set itself apart from Buick and Chevy brethren.
  20. ^ Please tell me how a <2% power bump help offset 8 - 12% weight gain? And why cannot the same changes in intake and exhaust be employed to lighter car?
  21. What innovation has Ford performed in trucks? Since 2003 (as a 2004) the F150 is on the same chasis granted it has been updated cosmetically to keep it fresh looking. A major overhaul does not come till 2014. That is 11 years on same platform. Ecoboost that is nothing more than a turbo V6 is an innovation? In fact GM brought more changes to the heavy duty trucks in its guts compared to Ford that just Tonka-ized the heavy duties. And FYI GM already has lightest trucks in all the segments. Some of GM trucks are lighter by as much as 500 lbs than its Ford counter parts. While I would like to see further weight loss, it is Ford that is lagging. GM should have a CEO like smoke and mirrors Mullaly to go with the products. Immediate improvements to GM trucks - interiors, removing that V6, introduction of small diesels, better aerodynamics, smart space management and ending the dumpy styling of the Chevy versions.
  22. I am not going to be a GM fan anymore. With this car comes the end of the world's best and most reliable platform that Roger Smith envisioned. Shame on you GM for killing your golden girl. I am going to buy the existing Impala and all generations of W bodies as a homage to how great those cars were and Bitch Moan Whine about how they helped GM in its world domination. After that I am going to be a GM hater as GM does not care for its customers which are me, myself and I.
