  1. i would think that if they are going to be having keys that cost the better part of $200, that they have a better system in place to deal with after hours drop offs than whatever lame-ass way it is they're doing it now.
  2. Well, mine doesn't. And having to take the phone out of my pocket and put it in the cradle to charge it rather takes away from the whole point of bluetooth for me. Which is why it's not an issue for me that Bluetooth is not standard yet. Even as someone who would never "shop in this segment", since I dislike SUV's
  3. Oy. Why oh why did they have to give Dan Neil a Pulitzer? Now every auto writer in the world has decided to up the snark factor to 11 on their dials and have to sprinkle in "hip" jargon that comes across about as hip as Adam Carolla in a track suit and gold chains....
  4. Personally, I don't really want built in Bluetooth. It drains the battery on my phone a lot faster. I have my bluetooth speaker that I turn on when I get a call. If it had bluetooth, he'd be bitching that the display didn't tell him aho was calling or the radio didn't automatically play his personal ringtones.

I didn't find the interiors too claustrophobic, and I think that the styling is pretty good. There could be a bit more detailing in the STS (It's obvious that they pulled back on this one) while the CTS has about one two many lines in it's side profile. I think most of them lose it at the rear: the CTS is, I think, the best (I was one of the few people that liked the grey/transluscent "grille" on the back), but the STS is, I think too watered down. The DTS IMHO really lets down in the back. While I think the XLR is the best looking one of the bunch, it totally pales next to the EVOQ. I realise that the front and rear bumpers would have never been able to be produced as it was on the concept, but I think it was watered down a little too much. Of course, I'd buy one in a New York minute if I had the money...

Well, I have friends who have these, and the VW's are crap: interiors are disintegrating, clutches needing replacement at 40k miles, etc. The Mini is cute, but I think $300 to replace the runflat tires can get old, along with the rest of those BMW parts. What the car magazines don't tell you when they are rating the German compact soooo very far above the Americans is that the cost of owning (tune-ups and replacement parts, etc.) is vastly different, at least in my experience.
  7. Wow- that was a good one. The only one I got was the Woodhill Wildfire. Which, I believe Dorothy Malone's character drives in "Written on the Wind"
  8. As a confident, bright, non-conforming adult liberal with wide interests I can safely dub this "study" a load of
  9. A couple of visits ago to New York was for a friends wedding, as the gift, my friend and I was to make the wedding cake. By happenstance, we lucked into a rental deVille. Not only was I surprised, I was shocked at how much better it was than the last Caddy I drove (an '85 deVille). It was great; the only point it even slightly let me down was a bit of tire screech and oversteer on an on ramp. I was really impressed with it.

Ah, color. In that case, you're getting off cheap. I gave up on color when I broke up with my last BF (who was and is a brilliant colorist). My hair grows too fast to keep up without live-in help.

Then you'd better be getting extensions.

I'd have to netflix that one- I haven't seen it in years. Come to think of it, it's really one that I should have in my library. A truly brilliant movie, and Kathleen was smoking hot.

Kathleen Turner "Body Heat" She reads one of the lines that I added in. Said twice in the movie bu different characters: "What are you gonna do? Charge me with smoking?"

Did she give you a fauxhawk? A chunky-peicy 'do? We need pictures!

I'm betting you have the DVD....
  16. Here's the story of my first and last drunk. I found out that coincedentally the keys to the back door to my parents house fit the front dor to my friend's beach house. One weekend, we made up a sleepover at each other's houses and drove to the beach. We weren't going to do anything, just hang out and be teenagers. Well, there was a full bottle of Laphroig single-malt scotch in the otherwise denuded bar. Needless to say, we mixed ourselves a cocktail. Then another. Then another. And then another. The last thing I remember of that night was going for a dip in the Atlantic. In Connecticut. In early March. Both of us woke the next morning, looking like the not-so-newly dead, with small angry men in stillettoes tap dancing on our heads, feeling like puking up our internal organs and looking at each other, hoping to GAWD that the other one would step up to the plate and drive the couple hours to Massachusetts and home. I usually stick to a two drink max now.

"Harold and Maude"? Just in case that's correct: "I used to love Doggy Chow, too!" Another one of my absolute favorites. Which is giving you all a scary window into my personality, I'm sure.....

"Caddyshack" One of the best movies, EVER "Chip, you know how I hate the brown word....."

"10 Thing I Hate About You" My sig is a line from one of my favorite movies. The last line in the movie, as a matter of fact.
  20. How does he fit? Not to be rude, but I am 6' 2" and 185, and I found the XLR to be a tight fit. I have long legs, and to fit in the car, I had to decline the seatbacks (I described it to a friend as fitting like a Prada suit). Jordan's got to be way taller than me. No way Shaq would fit in this car.

I find it pretty hilarious that this article puts Lincoln's future plans s being a plus, when everyone that I've read so far (and I) have been totally down on FoMoCo for tossing Lincoln's heritage on the scrap heap to rebadge Fords with some fake aluminum interior trim and a toothy grill. I was walking home tonight with my take-out dinner and while crossing Crescent Drive there was a gorgeous '61 Connie sitting there. The driver passed me going East on Dayton Way, so I got a good look at the back as well as the front. Just stunning, even after 45 years. Lincoln has spent the last ten years showing concepts that played on this car, most of which were freaking stunning. Tell me that the Continental Concept would not have sold: and not have given Cadillac (and yes CNN, Mercedes, BMW and Lexus as well) a run for it's money. So what does FoMoCo do? They balk at spending the cake on saving Lincoln, apparently thinking that they have Volvo and Jaguar as luxury brands. Yo, Mr. Ford, look at the sales figures- whoops? Not so much. Too freaking sad

I don't know why GM does this- they come up with a great commercial and they don't buy the airtime for it. I know it's 60 seconds, but c'mon: don't just show it once at the Oscars and then bury it on the website. How much could 60 seconds of "Desperate Housewives" or "The Apprentice" cost?
  23. tmp replied to jrockb4's topic in Cadillac
I hate these bull$hit articles that presuppose that there is no way a domestic can be taking on the Europeans. Note to CNN: your bias is showing....
  24. Yeah, we are ruining the place. I'm all for slamming the door shut! (Now that I'm here..... )

It was The Dark Half. Needful Things has a Tucker in it (in the book, I never saw the movie)
