I've heard some of those details but have heard nothing on timing. They're doing a good job of keeping this one in the bag. Ford has a lot of momentum now, but it doesn't sound like GM will have anything hit the market for a few years.

I was in a Ford dealer this weekend. The salesman was talking up their new engines for 2011, saying he got to test drive a ecoboost V6 and of course it was the best thing ever! Any news on GM's Gen V V8's? Are they going to be introduced prior to the 2013 redesign or will GM have upgraded engines out sooner to compete with Ford's new offerings? I'm planning on upgrading my Sierra sometime but haven't been impressed enough with anything to warrant the cost.

    almost dead center.
  4. What's interesting is if you're charging your Volt from energy supplied by a coal fired power plant you put more CO2 in the atmophere than a gas powered car getting ~40mpg. I could be off on the numbers a bit but it's not a hard calculation. Either way man induced planetary chaos from human CO2 emissions has been thoroughly debunked by real scientists but you sure wouldn't know it from watching any main stream news source. Another big positive is a battery manufactured at a US manufacturing site will generate much less pollution than one made at many locations over seas. I'm very glad GM is pushing this technology in the US. The potential is huge.
  5. Here's another site with more complete details: Link I was really hoping for a crew cab 6.5" box so I might be looking at a 3/4 ton, but the 6.2 with 3.73 rear end sounds like fun. Hope it's rated at least 12/18 mpg or better.
  6. Looks like the 2010 5.3 and 6.0's get VVT and a slight HP bump. Saw it on another site but are the 5.3 numbers: 5.3
  7. People leave lights on, it's hardly needless. Same day I wrote about the accord I go to a mall. A new CR-V outside with the lights on is in the parking lot. Come back an 1.5 hours later and the lights are still on. Maybe deaf people do drive cars. Honda, Toyota, and several other brands have been behind in electronics for a long time. Obviously it hasn't hurt their sales much.
  8. I still can't believe headlights on Hondas don't automatically shut off if you leave them on. My friend that had an 08 accord was left with a dead battery once... GM had that technology a decade ago? It's not that hard.

Citation!! Or not. There are a lot of options better than Cruze. I'd go for Nova. Designa cool car, use your heritage, Chevrolet.
  10. Have a similar radio in my Sierra. one of the LED's quit for months and it wouldn't play CD's anymore. I was shopping around to fix it and then it started working again, lights and CD Player. Drive over some big bumps, maybe it will shake something back into place
  11. They're going to hurt the luxury car reputation (ha ha) they're trying to build by getting people who can't afford to buy their cars into them.
  12. I hope they realize some people still need larger vehicles. I doubt it. Story time, my last 2 cars are an Impala and Malibu with v6's, both getting 27-32mpg (depending on weather) highway loaded with gear and people. My cousins have a new Hyundai Accent that gets 27 mpg when it's 'loaded down', better with 1 person. Loaded down means 3 people and all the stuff you can fit which isn't much. I hope this doesn't push econobox tin cans down our throads that really don't have any benefits other than being cheap, cause it sure ain't mileage.
  13. Scion sales are non existant in ND...
  14. Anyone know when 2010 info will be out for Silverado? I'm hoping for a 6.2 in extended cab configs.
  15. Saw on the CNN ticker GM has no plans of moving out of Detroit...
  16. I'll agree with them on some of their interior gripes on the Chevy. I think the dash is the cleanest and nicest looking in the bunch bit I'm disappointed with the rear seat and storage. After a cross country trip in one of these, there's just not enough thoughtful places to put stuff. The Ford is a solid rig looking for an engine. I don't like the interior much but it seems a lot more solid than the Chevy and it's quieter. Toyota is just bland all around. I haven't driven a new Dodge yet.
  17. GMC gets spared because they're #2 in sales. Obama's going to save GM because he needs votes in the rust belt. But he's going to push small cars for his green pals. That's my take. I hope Ford can stay away from government control. Someone needs to keep building large trucks and SUV's for us folks in rural areas.
  18. North Dakota State!! Not expecting a win but I hope they have a good showing against KU.
  19. People spending 30K on a new ride should have dash panels that line up, door gaps you can't stick your finger in and compartments that stay shut. These 3 Toyotas didn't do one of these things. Compareable Chrysler minivans and Impala's I've rented were put together better. Toyota's reputation is partially supported by the media these days.
  20. I've had a Sienna and 2 Avalon rentals recently. I'm really unimpressed. For vehicles that are so highly rated by Consumer Reports (ya, they're a joke) I thought fit and finish would at least be average. The Avalon may be the worst put together car I've seen in years...and one had only 300 miles.
  21. NO!!!!!!!!!! This is what I wanted to replace my current pickup with.
  22. Ironic that the US government, who is nearing 11 trillion in debt and can't manage itself, is going to be overseeing the GM turnaround now.
  23. And my town has a fancy new Saturn dealership that opened a year ago.
  24. ++ I hope we can protect and create solidify the US manufacturing base with this, trim the fat for a better, leaner faster moving corporation.
