My wife is enamored with the Buick Encore, it's something she has not stopped talking about since she laid eyes on it at the NYIAS in April. She constantly asks me to find out when the dealer will have one on the lot for a test drive, and I know she's cooking something up in her head about putting one in the driveway. Her dream car, the LaCrosse, is out of our financial means at this time but the Encore appealed to her as a daily commuter type car. Even if the Chevy was offered in the States, I doubt she would consider it. These cars are not my cup of tea, but it's likely the Buick will grace my driveway.

Trust me, as long as GM nor their Chevy dealers price these things into the stratosphere Camino would not be the only person targeted for this vehicle in the States. I too would love to own one of these Ute's, be it a Chevy or a GMC. As a lifestyle vehicle, GM would need to offer accessories for it from the start. I'm sure Holden has a ton of stuff for it already, just rebrand it (Chevy or GMC logo instead of the Holden Lion's head) and ship it over before the Utes arrive. Everything from a slide-out cargo tray to bed-mounted bike/kayak racks to a tent (a'la Aztek)... I'm sure those who could use a 2-seater lifestyle vehicle that don't go offroad will be attracted to the Ute (it's not ugly as the Aztek!!). The loaded 6.0L or 6.2L V8 models will target those that want a modern day muscle car. Dodge can have the Challenger, Ford can have the Mustang, and though Chevy has the Camaro the Ute would be another impressive sport-performance model in the stable. Crazy idea - bring it back as a modern-day GMC Syclone (albeit in RWD form only).

I have no money for a project of my own, no money to buy a new Sierra to play with, so I'll live through your "Mothertruck" adventures Honestly, if I had a winter indoor storage place PLUS the cash to buy this from you, I would do so in a heartbeat (then I could tell you exactly how I'd want it ). I think when it's all done this is going to be one awesome Chevy Truck. It's great to see a truck guy building such a capable truck. Too bad you won;t have it done before the AACA Fall Meet in Hershey (October), as that is one great marketplace to sell it at (and maximize your profit intake). I would be very excited to have the Holden Ute-based Chevrolet El Camino available in the US market (though I'd personally prefer a GMC Sprint/Caballero version better). I would glady hold onto my '06 GMC Envoy to tool around in a brand new EC, from work commuting, evening errands, or weekend cruising. I'd definitely be considered part of the target market for this vehicle.

Though this is occurring to my '06 GMC Envoy, it also occurred on my leased '05 Envoy (dealer fixed under warranty) and I'm sure the equivalent Chevrolet TrailBlazer, Oldsmobile Bravada, Buick Rainier, Saab 9-7, and Isuzu Ascender all suffer from this issue too. The rear doors of my Envoy have rubber weatherstriping around the wheel well curves that come loose, allowing wind noise and air to enter the cabin while driving. Here's what it looks like when it's properly in its place: Here is what it looks like loose and out of place: I'm getting tired of constantly pushing it back in place, only to come loose again. I'm wondering if there is an adhesive that can be recommended to hold the rubber weatherstriping in place. If there is, can you tell me what the name is and where to get it? Also, would this be the best DIY fix? I do not want to go to the dealer's service department and pay for this to be done. Thanks!!

Long story short, I've been cruising Chevy dealers lots for the past several months hoping to spot a Caprice PPV. Of course I haven't been successful in that time. Yesterday while shopping at a nearby mall in Moorestown (NJ) I happened to drive past Classic Chevrolet and spot a white Caprice PPV sitting on the lot across from a red G8 GT. I did a quick u-turn and headed to the dealer for my first personal viewing of a PPV. Boy was I in for a showing!! The dealer has 20 Caprice PPV's on his lot: Most were white PPVs (9C1), though there were several black and blue Detective (9C3) models on the lot (with a more civilian, but still basic, interior). This was my favorite color: Hugo Blue (PPV, not a Detective car): Also spotted at Classic Chevrolet was this customized '12 Volt that I found attractive: The interior was black with the white accents, including white stiching and embroidery in the seats. Very appealing to me as a package. Pretty cool decal and white Bowtie pairing:

dfelt, I'm sure there are but those would be pretty expensive. I think most 1-year leases are for fleet sales (car rental companies, namely), as they change over yearly. I remember I did a 2-year lease once, but the rest were for 3-years (mostly kept the vehicle for 30- months, as GM/GMAC was known to "pull-ahead" leasees into a new lease 6 months early).

ocnblu, you need to consider LEASING. It will save you time and money in the long run. You change vehicles way to quickly to keep financing and trading in. Why not have your Chevy dealer run you both lease and finance deals on both Chevies and see where they come out? As much as I love teh GMT-900 trucks, I think once the Colorado/Canyon debut next year-ish you will "fall in love" with them and will look to trade what you currently have for one. So why not consider a 2-year or 3-year lease and make it easy to walk away from your ride without the hassle of trade-in values? I think you'll be happy with the Sonic (great car and I love the RS model)... BUT you'll always pine for the truck you don't have in that case

It now seems that 2013 will be a full-year of GMT-900 production, with some new delays for the all-new '14 models announced on another forum. So you've got time to work out what you want on a new '13. Or you've got more time to wait for a new '14 I say go for it. You miss your Sierra - it was a very sharp truck, I might add - and gas is gas. If I was a single man today I sure would be cruising around in a regular cab GMC Sierra myself
