The New Infiniti G35
I like the new G....definite improvement over the old one. I'm not crazy about the interior but it looks to be of much-higher quality.....which was my one sticking point about the previous G35......the cheap touches inside the car that seemed more $20K than $35K.

Uh......it DOES......

New York: 2007 Suzuki XL7
They do..... Haven't you specced out a highly-equipped, AWD Torrent or Equinox lately?
-
New York: 2007 Suzuki XL7
That really doesn't matter..... Look at the pricing ladders of Equinox/Torrent/XL7. They are pretty damn close......and the Suzuki's bigger with a third-row seat...! For people in the know that will willingly go into a Suzuki dealership, this new SUV could put a bit of hurt onto Chevrolet and Pontiac.....

New York: 2007 Suzuki XL7
I agree ten-times over. The XL7 is really growing on me. Funny.....yesterday I laughed at the headlights and cursed Suzuki for f-cking up so badly.... Today, however, they've grown so much on me...... Wonder if the interior materials themselves are also a significant step up from the Equinox/Torrent?

New York: 2007 Suzuki XL7
They couldn't.....WAY too expensive for that kind of change.....wiring harnesses and all the other $h!..... Maybe in the next-generation Thetas....

CAR AND DRIVER $15,000 COMPACTS
C'mon....we're not going to go THERE again are we? I'd love for you to show me any BMW sedan that can't smoke YOUR G6......in fact, if the X3 SUV has a manual, even IT will smoke your G6.....(C&D.....7.4secs 0-60 X3 3.0 6-speed.....7.9secs G6 GT.) AND show me any Acura (except MDX) that can't smoke your G6...... Wanna go there again? I could play this game with you ALL day long and still come ahead....

Toyota recalls 57,000
Wasn't it shown that Toyota's engine sludge problem was prone to engines that had gone a significant amount of mileage inbetween oil changes...? I read the engines affected all had gone like 15K-20K miles between changes......and Toyota states an oil change interval of something like 7,500 in their warranty info....? If that IS indeed true.....then I say "Shame consumer" not "Shame Toyota".....

Honda may cut production of Accord hybrid
Road & Track, in the current issue, got a Camry Hybrid from 0-60 in 7.3secs. R&T is usually pretty accurate with their acceleration numbers so I'd probably be more inclined to believe that figure. They haven't tested a Malibu, but C&D got 0-60 in 7.9secs with an LT 3.5L......and 6.9secs with a recent Malibu Maxx SS......

Auto analyst slams GM to VA dealers
You can HARDLY call the Camry and ES rebadges....that's absurd. (And, NO.....AURA and G6 aren't either.) Equinox/Torrent...? YES RELAY/Uplander/Montana SV6/Terraza...? YES Ford 500/Montego...? YES

Auto analyst slams GM to VA dealers
You are spot on, toyoguy........ SKY, while fun and attractive and a good value, will not be a volume product. ION is still subpar. AURA, while handsome, breaks no new ground.....either for GM, or for the midsize segment and has an interior that is actually barely competitive now with what's out there.....not to mention an uncompetitive base drivetrain. RELAY.....also uncompetitive in its segment. OUTLOOK......could do really well. Really the only entry in Saturn's lineup that seems to be pretty-much fully competitive inside, outside, and powertrain-wise with the segment leaders.

2007 SATURN AURA PRELIMINARY SPECIFICATIONS
Evok's "busting your balls" and you are saying you are "not testy" (as in testicles...) All this ball-talk is getting me all riled up......

SATURN AURA RADIATES STYLE, REFINEMENT
My overall opinion after thinking about it a few days is that the AURA is a nice-looking midsize sedan with a very competitive top-level powertrain. However, it's interior is at best adequate, it's base powertrain is woefully inadequate from a competitive standpoint, fuel economy is unimpressive, and the car is ridiculously heavy for the size of car it is.....which does NOT bode well for a superior ride-and-handling setup. AURA is attractive but absolutely no standout in what is arguably the most important car segment out there... It's NOT what GM needs.....they needed much better.

NEW Car-Counting Experiment
Wow.... This is what makes this "game" so interesting. Compare the number of domestics in St. Cloud, MN to what I saw in Orange County, CA.... I'd love to see someone on here post numbers from the east coast, or somewhere in Denver, Phoenix, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, et al.....

VOLKSWAGEN RABBIT SPRINGS INTO NEW YORK
This is NOT the Rabbit. The new "Rabbit" is the everyman's Golf version of the recently-introduced GTi....and the hatchback version of the current Jetta....
-
VOLKSWAGEN RABBIT SPRINGS INTO NEW YORK
The new "Rabbit" Could be a stroke of genius on VW's part........ With a base price of around $14K-15K....with the same interior fit-and-finish and materials the Jetta and GTi interiors have..... Another stab in the back of cars like the Cobalt.....I'm afraid.....

Jeep Compass
Sheeeeyit man.....you can't compare this thing to Aztec. Aztec was (and still is) the ugliest, tackiest thing to come out of a major auto manufacturer in a looooooong time. I'm in the huge minority....but I don't think the Compass is bad-looking....in fact, I think it's kinda cute.....not MY thing....but still kinda cute. I predict it will do pretty well....especially with the pricing we've all seen on it.....

GM Lordstown lossing a shift
I'm FAR more of a car enthusiast then to base my opinions on cars compared to what I drive at home.... I compare the Cobalt rental I had to Corolla and Focus rentals I've had (for example) and compare it to the new Civics I've sat in and test-drove. I haven't always owned more-expensive cars.....I spent a good portion of my life with my butt in the seats of many varied GM cars during the 11 years I worked there..... And by the way....I didn't drive the S-Class that much.....and don't drive the X5 that much.....they were my other half's daily-drivers.... I spend most of my time in my '06 Liberty (company car) and sunny weekends in the C6 Convertible.

New Altima
I agree with you..... GM will need all your good luck..... This stuff keeps getting more-and-more depressing by the day, doesn't it...? GM brings out something new that's approaching acceptability from a competitive standpoint....then they just keep getting leapfrogged by the competition.
-
New Altima
I disagree..... Only the first one sucked..... The redesign had very nice materials and much better fit-and-finish and a much nicer integration of their center stack. This third-generation only improves upon that....and shows GM how it SHOULD be done....
-
New Altima
This car certainly is not going to make life any easier for the new AURA. I like it.....and I really like the new interior. This interior trumps the AURAs unfortunately...... GM almost catches up.....then gets leapfrogged all in a couple days' time at NY.... And I'm guessing a 2.5L L4 with 180hp, and a 3.5L V6 with 280-300hp (based upon the press release stating the two engines will show increased performance.)

2007 SATURN AURA PRELIMINARY SPECIFICATIONS
I stopped into the local Toyota store a few days ago and walked the Camry inventory. They had probably over 100 new Camrys in stock.....and I'd say that 98% of them were LE 4cyls with wheel covers, cloth interior, automatics, and MSRPs of about $21,200. Other than the wheel covers and cloth, they were loaded with power w/l/m, cruise, CD player, A/C, 5-speed autos. The EPA estimates on those cars was 24city/33hwy. I saw 1 SE V6 model and maybe 4-5 XLE V6 models out of ALL those Camrys. If you wanna chase the leaders, you need to at least be able to match what they are selling in mass....(eg...AURA w/2.4L, 6-speed auto.)

SATURN AURA RADIATES STYLE, REFINEMENT
YES.....!!!!! Love the new Passat, Jetta, and GTi.

SATURN HAS AN ALL-NEW OUTLOOK
Looking at the side profile above, it looks like they could have added a little more curve....so that the lower door cutout more closely aligns with the wheel arch bulge as it curves down around the front of the wheelopening.... I think that would have made the profile look that much nicer.
