  1. oh yeah, and it should be no suprise that the B52 is one of my favorites since the '72 Eldorado is also one of my favs.
  2. How could the F-15 not detect the F/A22?!? He's flying right next to him! ..... talk about a blind spot! :P :P :P :P :P My favorite is still the B-52, one of the most dangerous planes around. They can unleash more destructive force then any manned flying object and even after 30ish years they are still in duty.
  3. 1. Take the last Cadillac Deville 2. Throw this nose on it: 3. Slap a Star Chief badge on the back. 4. Profit
  4. I have no problem with 'intelligent design' being taught in a public school. It just shouldn't be taught in a science class because it isn't science.
  5. I'll take a CTS, 3-series, G35 or an A4 for that kinda money. The passat I sat in failed to impress, powertrain or not. Heck that's well into Hemi 300 territory. VW better bring over Skoda or Seat to fill the "people's car" gap left behind by VW. There once was a day when VW was concerned with competeing against Mazda, Fiat, and Ford. Today they are competing with Mercedes, Cadillac and..... Audi?
  6. Love it. My only quibble: If you're not going to do a consol shifter, make it a pushbutton shift rather then column shift. I think the Escalade class can handle it.
  7. Sure, why not? If you can make a 3 valve pushrod, you can easily make a 2 valve direct injection.
  8. That is a slightly inaccurate. the 3.4 DOHC was available, though extremely rare, with a 5-speed manual.
  9. They were made in the ragtop version but are EXTREMELY rare.

I turn 27 today. Thank you goes out to all of you.
  11. I'd like to see what the Avalon's real world economy is like. I know the northstar can do 29mpg highway. I've done it myself in a rental Deville. In this price class, a 2-3 mpg difference is nothing.

Very cool. I looked for them when I got the car 2 years ago, but they weren't available. I never bothered to follow up on it. It's time for a new filter anyway...... Hmmm.... <sings> happy birthday to me... </sings>

Wait... so they actually make that? I haven't been able to spot one for the CTS 3.6. Maybe time to shop around again.

Aww thank you guys! SixtyEight... is that for me?!
  15. 4 and 5 are a tie for me 3
  16. I thought all Aurora owners were supposed to go to Caddy dealers and all other models were supposed to go to Buick/Pontiac/GMC dealers <depending on which model your car was platformshared with>
  17. Oh yeah, and I can now buy a Park Ave Ultra equivilant with a real V8 and the performance to match it starting at 30k
  18. 2.8HF standard 3.6HF for the V-series and the 3800 s/c for the Super V-series <just kidding> With as tight as that engine compartment is, I doubt they could put a turbocharged HF in there. the 2.8 and 3.6 are supposed to get direct injection and thusly a HP boost right? This would be a great place to debut that.
  19. Actually the recent tests have shown the Lucerne is quieter then the ES. The Lucerne looks better The CTS has the same mileage numbers as the Lucerne V8 and they are selling every one they make. The Northstar will smoke the Avalon V6 in performance. All it's torque is down low. So tell us again how Avalon will suddenly increase in sales by 5 times to overtake all those LeSabre buyers?
  20. It's gotta be in the gearing. The S/C Riviera was supposedly able to get to 60 in just below 8 seconds. Not bad for a 3700lbs car designed in 1992.
  21. I've been suggesting a Kappa Cadillac for months and you've all ignored me :P :P :P :P A mini-XLR would really put the hurt on the Z4, TT, and SLK. It would make this family a two Cadillac family.

why do you want it on black friday?
  23. If you are Cutlass Supreme shopping, I'm the guy you wanna talk to. I had one for 2.5 year and I know a lot about these cars. Stick with the 1995, the upgraded interior is worth it. If you can find one with rear buckets intead of rear bench, grab it. The rear buckets are supremely comfortable, the rear bench is a park bench. Go for the 3.4 DOHC. In the coupe the 3.1 was adaquate, but in the convertible the extra weight really hurts things. The 3.4 has some issues you should know about. The alternators have trouble and they are a major bitch to change. If you have the alternator go, make sure and take it to the GM Goodwrentch dealer. Once they replace it, it's under lifetime warrenty. Check the timing belt with every oil change once past 60,000 miles. It's only two screws to pop the timing belt cover off and look. The timing belt job is expensive and shouldn't be attempted on your own, but you only have to do it every 80,000 miles or so. Watch your transmission fluid level. I had a few instances where I would be driving "enthusiasticly" and make a hard left turn and the tranny would slip out of gear. If your fluid level is low and you're making a hard left, all the fluid sloshes to the right and starves the tranny. Never put the top down without closing the release handles first. You can bend some of the mechanism. The boot is a bitch to put on. If you have any other questions, let me know. You know where to find me. P.S. And let me live vicariously through you, I miss my Cutlass convertible a lot.
  24. They have those E8s restored to their former glory. They run them as excursion trains now. They guy that owns them is completely rebuilding/restoring the Broadway Limited.
