Hey Walt
Well, I'd like to say that my offer stands. So if you get to talk to the owner about wanting to sell it in "running" condition, I could pick it up and get it out of their hair and it can come hang out with its younger LS1 powered sister.

Apparently, I needn't have worried about traffic...
I'm doubting this is the last time she leaves a note on a vehicle she runs into...

Thanks for the input guys. Looks like this is going to be one of those things that only sounds good in a dream, but completely different in reality. Thanks for the honesty.

OKLAHOMA
What roads are you going to be taking through Texas? Looks like you will be going past my house if you take either 121 or 69. If you get close to Trenton, send me a PM and I can give you contact info incase you have any problems and need a shop...

Chevy salesman
Hello, Long time lurker... My current career is coming to an end this December as the company is moving their stuff over seas... Anyway, I have always wanted to sell new Chevrolets and I'm not sure if this is feasible. It is something I would like to do part time while still employeed to test the waters... Is there anyone here who has experience with this field? Is the pay good, is it stressful or is it rewarding. I would definately NOT be one of those slimeballs just looking to make a sale... I live in the DFW area, so opportunities are out there... Any opinions, suggestions, ups and downs would be appreciated... Thanks

Is it possible to give up cars?
Nope, they are almost part of the family. It's like getting rid of an old dog.

Anyone got the low-down
FWIW, I'm kinda storing a z28 long term, but probably not in ways that you are interested in. I do start it about once a month and have done this for 2 years. I take it out every 3-4 months just to keep everything with a nice coat of oil on it. The transmission (A4) shifts just like it did the day I drove it off the lot and everything (but the shocks) are quiet and function normally. A small amount of valve clatter is heard right at start up, but that is normal. I don't recommend you leave the t-tops (if equipped) off due to mice getting in. Mice and squirrels are about the biggest factor outside of father time. If they can get in, they will nest. If you park it in a public storage or similar, you should lay out some bait/poison and there is also a device that you can put under hood to scare away the rodents and keep them from nesting. Jacking up the car and removing the tires would keep them from being flat spotted. Tires go back to round after about 50 miles, but it doesn't do ball joints any good. You should also disconnect the battery and remove it (especially if it is an AC Delco) to keep it from leaking and corroding. Mine is nothing like yours which yours has value and history and mine is one of many black 00 Z28's but its nice to have them with low miles (46000 on mine, far from low) and if you are thinking about keeping the bird, I think you are making the right decision! Good luck!

1988 Buick Regal
I looked at a 90 with a 3.1L with digital instrumentation which seemed like a good overall car, but later found a 92 with the 3.8L TPI and 4 wheel ABS disc brakes for about the same price. So I got the 92. I got rid of the nasty spoked hub caps and replaced the with the factory aluminum wheels. It was a limited, but I replaced what I could to make it look Gran Sport ish. Still had the chrome around the outside, but everything else was there. I peeled the chrome off the grille and painted it. The only 2 big problems that I had with it was the transmission went out a couple weeks after I changed the transmission filter. May have been my fault, maybe not... Who knows... The second problem is for the 2 doors that is pretty common. The metal used in the door handles break under cold temps, sometimes in warm temps, but they do break and it is normally the drivers side. It gets to be a pain to always come into the passenger side until fixed. The replacement part was cheap and the changeout was easy, just the inconvienence. It was one of my better cars. It replaced a 90 Sunbird and got replaced by a 00 Z28.
