Yes, if you can afford it and you really want it, you should treat yourself.
  2. Oil's coming down, so people can stop freaking out. It takes 10 years to get from exploration to the refinery anyway.
  3. All necessary moves I feel. The Trailblazer is a relic from a bygone era, and they were right to not put any money into it. It's amazing how fast the GMT-900s fell, but the car-based pickup move will finally move the segment forward. Also, he didn't say they would sell HUMMER for sure, he said they would investigate whether to sell it or change its focus.
  4. This is good news, but I can't understand why they're keeping the Cobalt around for an extra year. Its styling is already very dated, and it's not very competitive.
  5. Though it may be a good deal for us, how much less did GM spend developing and producing it? I bet it's less than $7k.
  6. I agree with Satty. GM debuts model far too early. Compare that with a company like Honda, where the new model just shows up in dealers and all the press is about a car you can go out and buy right then.
  7. The styling of the G6 was always fine, but its poor driving dynamics and dowdy interior were never fine.
  8. Has anyone actually followed the news that precedes oil price jumps? Speculation is part of it to be sure, but institutional investors never actually take delivery of any physical oil.

Inflation in the 70s was because of the Government trying to engineer the economy to follow the theoretical Phillips curve, which completely backfired as we know. Johnson's Great Society and Vietnam also didn't help. Here are some good quotes from this week's Economist about today's situation: Whole story here: http://www.economist.com/opinion/displayst...ory_id=11409414
  10. Mio makes some great products, and they're completely customizable.
  11. Moving into my new apartment.
  12. Wait I'm confused--is this real? Is it a GM Media release?
  13. Looks kinda stubby. Still, I bet it will be amazing to drive.
  14. Amtrak is a disaster. The Acela from Boston to New York is unbelievably expensive, and the trains are ALWAYS ALWAYS late. The tracks are laid out in a horrible way, having never been realigned since the mid 1800s. The trains never reach full speed because individual towns impose speed limits. Trains are good, but Amtrak is not.
  15. First of all, gas prices are blown way out of proportion for some reason. If prices increase 25%, that's a couple hundred bucks a YEAR. Other expenses are much more relevant to get all worked up about. Politicians obsess over it just to get votes; it's not the most important economic issue by any means. Anyway, I'm trying to decide whether or not to jump into this shorting ETF that's twice the inverse of a change in oil prices, but maybe it's best to hold off on that.
  16. Cool, but not the most relevant product for GM right now.
  17. I thought Global Chevrolet is a lot of Daewoo no?
  18. Looks like for once Toyota is getting burned (literally) for not using lithium ion.
  19. Great! Now it needs a new exterior and interior.
  20. *bangs head on table*
  21. People are not entitled to have some specific job. If they are not willing to accept lower wages for their work, they are perfectly free to leave and try to find other prospects, relocate, retrain, etc.

Cool! I start my own European odyssey when I go abroad to Nantes, France for the Fall semester.

Wow, I think it's fabulous. Like a more developed 599.

I think cavalier36 said it starts production at Lordstown in summer 2010. The spyshots make it look very very dull indeed.
