2008 SUBARU FORESTER FIRST DRIVE
Subaru sure has hit a rut since the fantastic Legacy. The exterior on this is weird and boring, and the interior (much like the Impreza) looks very cheap and dated.

Volkswagen @ NAIAS - Passat CC
Looks rather boring.

New Pilot
The design is very dull overall, except for the crazy MDX and Navigator-esque headlamps. I never understood how Honda sold so many of the current (crappy) Pilots, so this will probably do well too.

GM @ NAIAS '08: Cadillac CTSv - PHOTOS
Stunning interior, and the electronic parking brake is a big upgrade. Sweet headlights too.

GM @ NAIAS '08: Saab 9-4x BioPower Concept
The safe alternative to the BRX. Very simple, clean lines, but very highly detailed. Love the interior.

GM @ NAIAS '08: Cadillac Provoq Concept
Looks good, very bold. Certain aspects look weird, but maybe it's still too new. Something that worries me about the exterior is that the VUE went from stunner to just OK from concept to production, even though we were assured the concept was very very close to the real portly thing. Also, the interior is basically the exact same thing as the CTS but taller.

GM @ NAIAS '08: Hummer HX Concept
Cool concept--I want to learn more about this engine.

General Motors: Dec. 2007 and Full Year Sales
It was GM, but Toyota beat out Ford for #2.

Revival of the wagon
I too like wagons a lot--basically the same car as the sedan version with the same attributes except much more utilitarian.

Edmunds Family Sedan Consumer Comparo
Wow, the Malibu got some extremely high praise. Also, the Camry was given uniform disdain.

New GM Additions for 2009
2008 is definitely an "off" year for GM. They have a ton of intros for 2009, though (Cobalt, Lacrosse, etc).

HELP! Trying to Buy New Rims
Hey all, I was looking to buy some cheapy stealies for my 2001 Saab 9-5 for winter tires. Now I change from summer to winter tires on the same rim, incurring a rebalancing and mounting fee each time. This year I decided to buy some dedicated wheels for the winter tires, but I have had trouble finding reliable information about them. My car (according to TireRack.com) has 16x6.5" wheels, but the key is the bolt pattern: 5-110. I was looking at buying steel rims off a Volvo on Craigslist, but (again according to TireRack) the bolt pattern is 5-108. The question is this: can these wheels be installed on my car? Thanks!

FHI Introduces All-New Subaru Forester
God, Subaru sure fell hard after introducing the superb Legacy. The exterior is a Korean mix of boring and ugly, and the interior looks to be the same. Shame.

SPY SHOTS! 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart
I think Mitsubishi could clean up with this car. Subaru dropped the ball hardcore with the new Impreza; it looks like a late 90s Suzuki with an interior to match.

Debate not yet settled, but Lutz thinks Impala will be FWD
I agree with this. RWD is not necessary for this market, few non-enthusiasts know the difference, and those who do think it's something bad. Additionally, Chevy does not necessarily have to have a big cheap sedan. It would be nice to have something to compete with the Ford Taurus kind of market, but with Ford going down the tubes maybe it's not worth pursuing.

Lutz: new Buick LaCrosse a "mind-boggler"
I have a sneaking suspicion the Lacrosse will put the ES, TL, Passat, etc to shame.
