There's more of a tendency for the potential buyer's stock price to drop on acquisition news. I don't have much time to check stock charts right now, but it would be interesting to see a GM and DCX comparison on the same chart after the news came out :AH-HA_wink:

Would that be, given the STS sales record so far, the big question mark in the forecast? SWB and LWB cars for Australia Latin America and the Middle East, maybe? Australia could essentially become an engineering center for GM, with production located where scale effects are larger (Oshawa in this case )?

That's what's happening over here, but it's because the Corvette doesn't sit well with the rebadged Daewoos. I don't think I'd do that in NA.

It might be an interesting product with the 150hp 1.9L diesel and a 6sp manual. Assuming such a powetrain would fit.

The concept of an AWD MINI with the 1.6L pushed to around 230hp (maybe as the next JCW) is interesting, but I'm afraid it might feel more 'Subaru WRX' than 'MINI Cooper' However, what could a MINI Traveller mini-SUV be like? Or a modern-day MINI Moke?

My bad - the article I read did not have a date, it just said they VW would introduce a Bluetec diesel in the US. I assumed they had made further progress re the engines' certification.
