  1. Sorry. Don't mean to intrude. Just a little comment about the Japanese car market. I was stationed there for several years. The roads are very narrow and can't accommodate most American sized vehicles. Also, public transportation is so well developed that you can get just about anywhere you want to without needing a car at all. It would be a tough market to crack for any automaker. I purposely went looking for a western vehicle to buy while there but couldn't find one. The only non-domestic cars to be found were Porsche's and VW's. As far as I know, most of what GM sends over there, Hummers and Cadillacs, are not affordable or practical for anyone but the ultra-rich. I think that's why GM spent so much money trying to use Subaru, Suzuki and Isuzu to get a toehold in the Japanese market. There is a lot of nationalistic pride in their own automakers but also a fascination with western products and culture. They love Canadians just like everybody else.
