I hate to be the downer in all of this but i think we need to get past the "race" card. especially when it comes to japan vs. U.S. auto makers. there is a fair amount of all ethnicities in all car companies so if seeing a person driving a car they "are not likely to drive" doesnt really mean anything. yes people with asian heritage drive american muscle just like "american" caucasians drive japanese cars..... people drive what they wish.- Saab Story
Toyota and Fly's car........... thats a low blow..... ouch..... very good points- Green Beat: GM Jolted by Chevrolet Volt Buzz

Nevermind i take that back (maybe).... if you see the eject button in the middle of the console it appears to be a latch.... if that flips up and you notice the line with the indentation a cd could fit in there easily.... sideways?!?!? that would be a first- CONCEPT: Chevrolet Camaro Convertible
Sorry camino going to have to disagree on the red color choice.... though it could just be the quality of my video card picking it up it does appear more orange to me and red only on certain parts due to the shading.... so we will have to wait on that one....- CONCEPT: Chevrolet Camaro Convertible
For the CD disc Slot im guessing its a 3 disc *as indicated by the 1 2 and 3 * and its in the glove box maybe? or it might pop down from below or something crazy like that- Is it possible to give up cars?

For those who are wondering they are making a fourth movie.... and yes Stewart is signed on for it.- Death of the V8?
Yes completely brilliant besides getting hung up on small details but yes i call them V4's sorry for my taboo in the car world but its just easier because unless i am mistaking you got my point of what a I call a V4. On a side note I am a fan of VW's if you cannot tell by my screen name... and yes we all call 4 bangers V4 it is just quicker. Just like all VR 6's are not called a V6.- Death of the V8?
Data has never fully driven educated decisions. Why do you think the average American reads at a 6th grade reading level. Thats how most newspapers are written. So the common public is hardly educated. I can say my parents are hardly educated. You know the reason why my mother does not like chevy's? She does not like the tail lights. The reason she has her nissan is she likes the color. She doesnt have a clue what mileage it gets or even all of the features in the car. I believe that can speak for the general public. What is comes down to is people buy what they buy. There are dozens of reasons that people like what they like from cars to food. And trust me not alot of it ever makes sense. What is comes down to is people get what fits their needs. Some people are rich some people are poor. So some individuals need fuel efficient cars others could give two cents at getting 8 miles to the gallon "H2 for example" So what drives the market is whatever people feel like buying. My self for example. I want a fast car with nice interior a good sound system and a stand out presence. That in my opinion could be anything from Pontiac GTO, New Camaro, A R32 VW, Twin Turbo Supra, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, or even a Mercury Marauder. Now with all of those cars I might Modify them to make them "better" one way or another. I am educated with a degree, i know plenty of opinions of the automotive industry, and i am well aware of buyer data. Has that influenced my future purchasing decisions? Maybe yes and maybe no. But to assume that those influence everyones decision is highly ludacris. A question to everyone.... how many people have been with a friend and driving when they go "ooo" at a car that goes by, that they want because the like the "look". Now how many of those friends know the data on those cars usually? Or do they even care? Most of the time I would say this is more true, if they can afford it, they will buy it. Not that data in the slightest influences their choice.- Death of the V8?
After reading everyones "logical" imput let me say this.... the V8 won't die, the V6 won't die, even the V4 won't die. its just is not going to happen. The title of this thread is death of the V8. The only things likely to happen is..... V8 sales go down or, Better fuel economy happens to all engines for 4's through 12's letting everyone still pick what they want which might increase V8 sales or it might not who cares, the V8 will still be around. It would not be cost effective for every car maker in the world to just get rid of a type of engine... the need for it would arise sooner or later because unless someone really wants to argue the V8 is not better at some things than a V6 just like the V6 is better than some things than a V8 is everyone just being in denial. While some people may think the horsepower wars are ending.... well guess what the technology wars are never going to end. Its possible to have a 700 horsepower car that gets 25/35. We just have not figured out how to do it yet. Now whether they get a 4-6-8-10-12 or even 16 to do it remains to be seen. So how about everyone sits back, relaxes and waits for the technology to do the talking.- 2008 Camaro?
If there is a computer god out there that can look at the "productions" passenger seat with the folder and blow-up those tiny words and focus them to find out what that says that would be much appreciated- Death of the V8?
well that might be true consumer wise.... but if they replace the CV with that how in the heck are the cops supposed to catch anyone? the CV with the Police interceptor package would kill the 500 in a race. They might be able to use it for winter squad cars with snow so they will have better traction... but thats about it. - Pontiac G8 PRODUCTION Information from GM Canada
