This morning, we reported on Mercedes-Benz working a new midsize truck and how the U.S. arm wants it. Well we have another wrinkle in this story to report on. Reuters reports that Diamler AG - Mercedes' parent company - will be expanding its cooperation with Nissan to help with the development of this new truck. The Mercedes truck, due out towards the end of the decade will use some of the underpinnings of a all-new Nissan NP300 truck. "Entering the rapidly growing segment of midsize pickups i

One of the stories we didn't get the chance to cover on Cheers & Gears last week was Mercedes-Benz building a midsize pickup. Now at the time, we considered this an early April Fools joke. But when the official announcement came out, our jaws were agape: Mercedes-Benz is working on a midsize truck that will go on sale towards the end of the decade for certain marketplaces - the U.S. is not one of those places. Now this wouldn't be a luxury truck, it would be built for work. This further subs

Mercedes-Benz has announced pricing for the upcoming 2016 Mercedes-Maybach S600, and not surprisingly, it costs as much as a house. The ultra-luxury model will hit dealers with a pricetag of $190,275 (includes a $925 destination charge). To put this into perspective, the Maybach is right between the standard S600 ($167,825) and the maddening S65 AMG ($222,925). For the almost additional $23,000 over the standard S600, the Maybach gets an additional 7.9 inches of wheelbase which is dedicated for

Starting next year, Mercedes-Benz is revising the names of a fair number of vehicles. This naming change shouldn't come as a shock to anyone - see Cadillac and Infiniti. Mercedes' reasons for the name change is to make their lineup a bit easier to understand and to make it easier to come up with a name for a new model. The majority of the changes will be focused on Mercedes' utility lineup as all models will wear the G, followed by a letter to signify class lines they are a part of. GLA – New
