Hire someone to clean up the mess and invoice her.

Clearly a joke. I agree. I guess I incorrectly assumed he already had spoken to them about it.

Then you should play on full blast.
  4. KBB should not be factoring in the $7,500. There is absolutely no accounting logic for such a decision. Just like one doesn't immediately down-value an item because it was purchased "on sale."

What's your local noise ordinance? If they're being loud and violating it, call the cops.
  6. That's what will happen. But GM's Board needs to understand that the auto industry runs fairly long product cycles and that it takes time (often more than a single product cycle) to re-position a brand. Selling Opel is dumb and was only on the table to please or trick Ms. Angela I-will-do-anything-to-win-an-election Merkel. AGREED with all of the above 100%. It's a no-brainer, really...which for GM likely means there's a 90% chance they manage to get it wrong.
  7. This is so stupid. Opel isn't going anywhere. GM just needs to reign them in a little bit...focus on the bread and butter and knock off all the low-volume niche vehicles until profitability is achieved. Let Buick share in more of the development costs. And for god's sake figure out what the hell is going on with Opel and Chevrolet market positioning in Europe.
  8. Seriously? Rear has a real "Baby Enclave" look to it.

Write a negative review on Yelp.

Couple things to consider: economics and legalities. Sure, you are legally entitled to your vacation time, but this economy situation is kind of iffy. How secure is your job? If you "take one for the company," would you be seen as a go-getter and earn favored status with the boss, or would you be seen as a pushover? Also, can you send him an email asking for a clarification on the choice? That way, you can get him to have a record in case anything shady transpires down the line. Always protect yourself.

As I recall, you were the one walking around Chicago all night in -13 degree weather with not much of a coat. And I was a Popsicle by the end of it. I belong in Arizona. Dude Arizona gets COLD when the sun goes down. Just like most of SoCal--with little/no humidity, there isn't anything to hold the heat in once dusk passes.

I honestly don't understand the sedans at all in this segment--WHY eliminate all that storage space and headroom??

    Awesome, thanks!!

Nice video. Gives me a leg up in headlight/taillight/silhouette identification. Anybody know if CHP is getting these too?

Too funny...that's where I was this past weekend, too.

Why? ?? Because I can.... My company matches .50 for every $1 up to 4%. I put in 7%. If I didn't, I probably wouldn't have the discipline enough to save that extra 3% elsewhere. Yes, I stick to my budget very well, but I don't think I'd save that 3% elsewhere. PLUS ... the more I put in, the less of my salary is taxed. There are other retirement vehicles that would earn you a better return than a 401k. The only reason to even bother with a company's 401k plan is if it's matching, so match up to but exceeding the maximum matching contribution point because that's free money...and never turn down free money. The biggest reason not to stay with the 401k beyond the maximum matching contributions is that you're assessed income tax on it when you finally retire and withdraw it...at your current tax bracket. It's better to invest in retirement with money that's already been taxed because then there's no gotcha! at the end, your tax rate is likely a lower bracket now, and it's pretty damn easy to outperform whatever "savings" you'd have with pre-tax, tax-deducted money. Basically, you'll come out ahead.

The Roadmaster was the Buick flagship. Park Avenue was a very close #2, however.

Hey, I love mid-century kitsch--even have a reservation to go on a tour of a modernist house with the first sunken conversation pit over Memorial Day weekend. But what you linked to was 70s...which really was just the decade of impeccably awful taste.
  20. I'm glad I have backup on that one. I was expecting a fight there. I pretty much agree with the rest of your assessment so far. The interior design isn't as refined, but it is put together well for what it is. I just want to make that distinction. But because it's a VW it's totally OK since they MEANT to go downmarket, unlike GM who is just CHEAP and LAZY whenever they do it the same way.

That could have been said for any other brand had GM not pigeon-holed all of their brands in the 30k or less starting price bracket. I mean think about it...If Cadillac were really upmarket, Buick would have followed, as would have Oldsmobile, Pontiac, SAAB and well Saturn could just stay out in orbit because I never liked them anyway.
  22. Well...the Commodore and the Omega aren't exactly the same car. From my understanding, Holden pretty much ran with the Commodore to make it great, and as a result it diverged a bit from the Omega.

  25. He sells Suzukis. His primary currency is clearly bull$h! Hello Cheers and Gears, did the emoticon not render for you, or have emoticons lost all meaning? Just a little facetious ribbing there, not really sure why anyone took it personally and/or seriously. You know, hence the smiley face winking.
