just the powertrain, if upgraded to the same as the corolla, would be a huge upgrade as far as driving and efficiency.

Industry News: Prices of Used Subcompact and Compact Vehicles Are Rising
more so with the 'nox diesel. it'll be interesting if mazda puts the x engine in the CX-3 soon. 29 city / 34 highway now , but add ~25% makes it ~35/43 This will be why the small CUV/Crossovers(?) may continue to dominate even in $3.50+ gas prices

Industry News: Prices of Used Subcompact and Compact Vehicles Are Rising
would be interesting to see some $/mile for vehicle categories, brands, industry average over, idk, quarterly timescale. it feels like the last 10 years big jumps have happened in all but the biggest SUV/truck groups.

power handling of the CVT is unknown, right? best way to estimate it would be base it off the camry's engine(s), let's average the eco and "normal engine" performance to =~190HP from a 2.5L. a 2.0L could produce more like 152HP. not far off. /remindme when real specs for it are released. interior does look class competitive. mostly simple/straight forward. i wonder what the base will look like. exterior looks euro/scion/camry derived... mostly on the ugly side. this makes me glad the sedan market is shrinking.
