Some good employment news
i know it's knit picking... but it's "mission" is to maintain "full employment" and a strong dollar. fail on both of those, and a high chance it will only get worse. peter schiff on russia today. is kinda old though. 4 months does cover the "unemployment fudging"...

The loss of the commonplace
arties. lol yes dynamic range has been slowly killed over the past..10 years. the hidef mediums are the next format to conquer, if it continues. the only station that has dynamic range here is NPR, where 90% of it's music is classical. the loudness war ..sucks. party lines... my mom talks about those when she was younger... maybe 40 years ago or more. faxes. my work still uses them... seems that 1/2 of what it spits out is useless though. when i was younger we had a cable box, Zenith. push the button corresponding to the channel. dials that i remember in my families house, only one, but i'm not sure if it was given to us or if it was actually bought.

The loss of the commonplace
today's "static" in tv is when sections of the picture get majorly pixelated and pause for a second. with analog you could at least still hear the sound if you got anything. i think i read somewhere that in the past few years cd recording has gotten too good, or the highdef music... whatever. they've started adding a little background hiss/static to make it sound a tad more "realistic" compared to vinyl. i've seen ads on webpages that ATT thinks it will have highspeed internet to 100% of it's customers here by 2014. i myself hear modems handshake at work, cause my boss has to see what the markets do, after it's closed typically. but the last time i had dial up at home was about 5, maybe 6 years ago. we still get analog cable here in my house.

Team Fortress 2
just looked at the "games less than $5" if you like turn based, tactical games, pick up x-com ufo defense. one of my favorite all time games. is from early 90's though just so you don't have high expectations on graphics. scratch that... the game is only like 15 megs. google dosbox and i could find win rar and split up the iso for anyone.

a subsection of the lobby?
a "readers corner" , so there is a place to leave a review on any good books anyone reads... hehe it can be out own "book club" hahahah but the idea is tell what book it is and maybe a decent couple of paragraphs including why you wanted to read it, what it was about, and a critique of it. it would include any genre, fiction and nonfiction. just an idea.

Cadillac XTS concept hint to be at NAIAS
Dwightlooi (sorry if i misspelled it) kinda did that already... if it was a 3.6 based...an 8 would be 4.8, but what's this, already have one in the trucks. yes i know the differences. slap 4 more cylinders on that, poof, it's a 7.2L IBC V12. yes, i know it's not that simple. hehe potentially it could have ~450hp and lbft in a relatively small package. and maybe a 3.6 inline knock off too. ooooooo. cause cutting off 1/2 the engine and moving the cam to the top is absolutely workable.
