Get the best LaCrosse you can afford. Seriously.

GM News: GM's Detroit-Hamtramck Given Temporary Reprieve
RIP Buick LaCrosse (2005-19) and Chevrolet Volt (2011-19) and Chevrolet Impala (1957-96; 2000-19). Long live the CT6 (I hope I can buy one someday. Either that or a high-end XT5).

Mercedez Benz News 2020 Is The Last Model Year for the S65 with a V12
I just hope that the V8 does not become as rare as the V12 is today.

Lincoln News: Lincoln Corsair to get Plug-In Option
Generally, names are better than alphanumeric designations. Cadillac should have an all-name lineup just like Lincoln is returning to.

Mercedez Benz News Curtains for the Mercedes-Benz SLC
Another roadster goes because of lack of sales. SAD. Then again, why does the MX-5 (aka Miata) still exist?

GMC News: GMC Introduces Refreshed 2020 GMC Acadia
GM should build one on the Omega platform sooner than later. More importantly, Cadillac really needs to step up all interiors and surpass all comers NOW. Otherwise, we will see Escalade models on the lot for 120 days or more while putting cash on the hood just to move the metal.

DRIVEN: 2019 Chevrolet Blazer LT AWD 3.6
53K huh? I can get a brand-new Cadillac XT5 Luxury for about $53K. Why spend it on a new Blazer again?

Honda News: Honda May Close UK Manufacturing Plant
For whatever the reason, Britons thought that Brexit and "national sovereignty" would solve their problems. Now Britons will face severe consequences for their decision. Good luck.

GMC News: GMC Introduces Refreshed 2020 GMC Acadia
That is interesting. Why does Cadillac lack a Tahoe/Yukon to its Suburban/Yukon XL?

Buick News: Buick to Look to China for more product
Buick getting all of their vehicles made for the Chinese market makes sense given that China is about 75% of Buick sales. Buick as a three-CUV car marque in the USA makes sense since car sales are so anemic.

DRIVEN: 2019 Chevrolet Malibu 1LT 1.5 with CVT
The more Hyundai/KIA push easy credit to sell their vehicles, the more often people are upside down on their car loans because the residual values hit the skids early and often. Yes, GM and Ford should keep a few sedan models around, but sedans do not sell at the numbers like they used to. GM should simply sell the best sedans given the segment that currently exists. Since Buick may no longer sell sedans in the USA anymore, Chevy should make and sell the BEST Malibu and the BEST Cruze possible and take the fight to Civic/Corolla and Camry/Accord.

Buick News: Buick Cascada Dead After 2019
The only things that keep Buick from becoming a China-only brand are the Enclave and the Encore (maybe the Envision). The Lacrosse is dying, and so is the Cascada. I would not be surprised if the Regal and Verano disappear within the next two years while we are at it. Sadly, GM in the last 40 years has found ways to destroy brand equity by making virtually all cars the same with few real differences. "Make it cheaper; make it common" killed Oldsmobile and Saturn and Pontiac. Only China keeps Buick afloat. For every Buick sold here, Buick sells four vehicles in China. Solve those issues and Buick might be salvageable here in the land where it was born and raised.

Land Rover News: Land Rover Debuts New Inline-6 Engine
Q: Why won't GM build an I6 derived from one of their I4 engines? Seems to me that the current corporate V6 does not always pass muster like it should.
-
DRIVEN: 2019 Chevrolet Blazer LT AWD 3.6
What? Sound pricing? GM would never price the Blazer sanely these days. Better Q: who would BUY a new Blazer these days?

Land Rover News: Land Rover Debuts New Inline-6 Engine
The I6 is a good idea and congrats to Land Rover for installing a very modern I6. Too bad GM ditched the Atlas I6 after the Morain OH plant shuttered in 2008. An I6 would be a great base engine for the trucks and RWD Cadillac/Camaro/Corvette.

TAKE THAT KRAUTS: The 2019 Cadillac CTS-V Will Be One of the All-Time Greats
Then maybe GMC should build a challenger to the Jeep Wrangler et. al.

TAKE THAT KRAUTS: The 2019 Cadillac CTS-V Will Be One of the All-Time Greats
Hummer went because of sky-high gas prices driving Hummer into the ground. Saab gave GM absolutely NOTHING. Once Pontiac had no real reason for existence (G8 aside), that brand could disappear. Same reason Oldsmobile was killed: falling sales and no real effort to fix it all AND too few resources to save any of them, let alone all of them. As for the CTS-V and its successor, I do hope that Cadillac and GM actually learned to do the right things and pull customer away from BMW and Audi and MB. THAT is the mandate.

TAKE THAT KRAUTS: The 2019 Cadillac CTS-V Will Be One of the All-Time Greats
If only GM would build a New G8/SS sooner than later (and NOT just a Cadillac CT6!). GM cannot just live on SUVs and crossovers alone!

TAKE THAT KRAUTS: The 2019 Cadillac CTS-V Will Be One of the All-Time Greats
Air gestures over knobs and buttons are not wise in any car. Occasionally we run into technology that makes things worse. I would NEVER recommend a PC with a touch screen, but that is OK for a tablet/smartphone. Our cars should minimize distractions, not encourage them since distracted driving is becoming more of an issue these days.

Amazon and GM in talks to invest in electric pickup truck maker Rivian: sources
I suspect a lot of people will be buying EVs within about 15 years. What will you say then?

Amazon and GM in talks to invest in electric pickup truck maker Rivian: sources
I am unsurprised that Amazon is investing in Rivian. Good for them. As for GM, this is a great idea. Invest in the potential competition and all.

TAKE THAT KRAUTS: The 2019 Cadillac CTS-V Will Be One of the All-Time Greats
What is more important to a V series: performance or interior luxury? Asking for a friend.

Sounds like the Cadillac version of a Mercury Marauder. SAD.
