If it is going to be even more expensive, then why didn't Buick get a RWD sedan earlier via the Sigma platform? How much cheaper is the Zeta to build than the Sigma? The CTS is advertised locally at $27k. How do these two platforms compare in price and techical detail?

While I understand your liking of the magnum, Chrysler is having a hard time with large numbers of unsold cars and the magnum leads the list. Perhaps this doesn't apply as much to the hemi. Anyone know for sure?

This car represents everything Saturn has espoused - relability, ease of maintenance, and enjoyable driving. The great people on this forum have been particularly fortunate in having Charlie maintain the high standards we associate with Saturn, and in having the likes of Wolfman, Sattech, Sscarman, and others, share tremendous depths of product knowledge. This is presented as a table and as such the order has importance. I have over 40 publications in the literature and this is not allowed. What order of presentation is he using? Reverse alphabetical order, decreasing sales volume, his personal likes? Perhaps I am just getting old and ill-tempered.

Good read and I approve of the feisty attidude GM is displaying. However, In MY 1963 Studebaker was feazturing the Hawk and the Avanti with supercharging. AMC had a whole new lineup of cleverly named models (220-440,550-770,880-990) many with a truly excellent new cylinder engine and clever transmission options. International Harvester was strong with the Scout and Travall, not to mention the pickups. Jeep was there too. Are Isuzu, mitsubushi, Jaguar and Land Rover really that much more a part of the automotive business?

The Ranger and the Colorado seem to be in a class of their own. Someone posted that the ranger is cheaper. They seem to raised the price around here. Maybe to make up for decreased sales? The four cylinder (2.9 L.) seems to be in a class by ityeself. The price of gas is over $3 a gallon and rising quickly. I want a 4 cylinder Canyon when I replace my 115 hp Sonoma. I think it will sufice nicely.

At first I rejected Evok's thesis that older people are more easily satisfied causing these results. I have been thinking about this for a couple of days between war reports. I have followed owner comments at saturnfans.com fopr years now. At least once a month some one lists some problems with his bottom feeder car (amazingly sometimes used cars!). These people go absolutely bizerk. I fear for the saftey of the service writer. These are not the older coustomers. We older coustomers are more likely to say that the dealer did software changes to the transmission, now the car is better, and by the way the resroom was CLEAN. Three chairs for clean restrooms at Pontiac and Saturn dealers.
