Seems Ford and Lectron have joined up to build and ship out the CCS to NACS adapter as the Tesla one is still having the bugs worked out that caused Ford to tell their customers to stop using it. Ford will ship out the Lectron to replace the Tesla units. Ford Begins Shipping New Tesla NACS Adapters To EV Customers

Interesting read on an ICE that has become an EV user for 90% of their life. Their old 231,000 miles Tahoe is for the other 10%. I'm A Gas Car Fan. Here's Why I Love My First EV @surreal1272 Months like this add up to take over a market big time. EVs And Hybrids Catapult Hyundai, Kia October U.S. Sales To New Record
  3. More Support that Ford is making a big mistake, Hyundai based on presale orders has increased the all new Ioniq 9 for global markets by 30% as they now plan to produce 210,000 of them for 2025. Kia, Hyundai, Genesis say spacious EVs at proper price points will drive adoption and that will be shown by their EV3 subcompact that will hit the US for Kia in 2025. https://thekoreancarblog.com/2024/10/30/next-gen-palisade-set-for-december-debut-30-production-increase/ GM better get a move on with their $25,000 Bolt if they want to dominate a chunk of the market.
  4. Yes, the whole VW mess is confusing at times to figure out what is VW getting versus their independent divisions.
  5. Correct, they have on their whole EV expansion put much on hold, delayed much as I posted above where this is all covered under their BlueOval City which the local Tennessee news has covered on all the delays and slowdown in work. Yet they got their huge tax breaks but the work will be delayed / possibly killed. Yes, Kia, Hyundai,Genesis have moved forward to dominate the world and compete against the Chinese while the American companies now Cower in their tower, drive chinese versions and complain. GM has FAILED to see what the customer wants as they go after charging to get the same app on their EVs. Will not be getting my money any longer as they fail to listen to their customers. I can see Korea auto companies dominating the US market in a few decades.
  6. Guess Ford which has 50 to 60 day supply of most models is shutting down the F150 Lighting line due to having 100 plus days of supply till January 6th 2025 and is looking to do the same for Mach-e and Transit that has a 128 and 112 day inventory on hand. Ford to halt production of electric F-150 Lightning next month until January
  7. ? Delayed indefinitely the mid-size EV Pickup, 3 row EV SUV and since it is a division of Ford, all the Lincoln EVs that were supposed to happen and now Lincoln will stay ICE with Hybrids as they stopped EV all together. So yea, you can say Ford is not committed to EVs anymore. Remember this was all the rage in 2022 when stories like this came out and Lincoln was to kill off all ICE by 2030, no EVs are dead as Lincoln will have hybrids between now and 2030 with Ice continuing on well into the undefined future. 5 Electric Lincoln Models Are Expected by 2026: Reuters Report So I would say Ford is NOT committed to EVs, they have pretty much kicked it to the curb. Ford Blue Campus was the Rage to be online by January 1st 2025 with battery production and the mid-size EV Truck and other EVs to start between 2025 and 2026. BlueOval City Now the latest is that production of batteries will start end of 2027 at the earliest with no time set for EV production. Hiring of the 6,000 workers by 2025 is now by 2030 at the earliest. What to know: The new Ford BlueOval City plant poised to reshape West Tennessee • Tennessee Lookout So yea, this tends to show no commitment to EVs Compared to other brands. IMHO
  8. Seems Scout is now wanting to use more than software in the Scout Truck / SUV. Scout Motors Plans to Leverage Rivian's Electronics Architecture

Excited for SEMA in a week as Kia seems to have some new EVs to show off and one could be an X-Pro off-road edition of the EV9. Teaser photo they released today.

  13. I can understand what you're saying on the current Lyriq. I am hoping that once full specifications come out and as we get close to on sale next January, we actually get better images as what is available here, I have a hard time seeing as a performance SUV. Ya know that the Escalade IQ will have a V trim too. I can easily see them taking the tri-motor setup of the GMC Hummer and upping it over the 1,000 HP setup they have there. It will sell as it will be the most powerful full-size SUV out there.

  15. Cadillac for the last 20 years has had from RWD to AWD autos and the top of the line for the cars has been a sub-brand for the performance line of the V edition. LYRIQ started off in 2023 as a RWD SUV with 340 HP / 325 LB-FT of torque winning accolades as such an outstanding EV of the year. This was followed up in January of 2024 with a 500 HP / 450 LB-FT of torque AWD EV.  The LYRIQ-V has had rumors of providing 515 HP to 550HP or more with 450 LB-FT of torque. As of this press Reveal from Cadillac, no actual numbers have been confirmed at this time. Cadillac has stated that the V-series of EVs will be characterized by exceptional performance, instantaneous acceleration, competitive range and standard all-wheel drive (AWD). 17. I wonder if that will happen when their Skunk Works project for below $30,000 EVs goes to market as they standardize the whole EV family on 400V for inexpensive EVs and 800V for the more expensive and midtier EVs.
  18. I wonder when Ford will go to an 800V architecture like Kia/Hyundai/Genesis has as that would also improve charging and performance.
  19. This is interesting, I wonder how many people will have picked up on this as the press release, they verbally said they would take care of their reservation holders with the pricing. Yes, vague but tends to make one assume they mean to honor the pricing, but now that you have the actual screen shot shown here, that tends to imply the prices are going to be flexible and one can kiss the current prices goodbye. Good catch, I had not been out to the reservation site yet. One thing that is a rip off imho is the higher price for the truck over the SUV. Less materials, less finished interior than the SUV, if anything, I would expect the SUV to have a higher cost to produce than the truck.
  20. G. David Felt replied to TaurusSHO's post in a topic in The Lounge
I agree with the bulk of the autos except the body panel parts. I would say they should go into a used parts plant where they get disassembled and parted out.
  21. Scout has stated that the pricing will be locked in for the early reservation holders. I think they do not want to piss folks off like what Rivian did and then had to backpedal on to make the reservation holders happy.
  22. G. David Felt replied to TaurusSHO's post in a topic in The Lounge
Rivian has stated that even with water intrusion into the cab, the electronics should not be affected since the whole purpose of the Rivian design was to be waterproof for the R1 series. That is not going to be the same for the R2 and R3, but the R1 is supposed to be waterproof. I think maybe the insurance person does not really understand the Rivian R1 autos.
  23. G. David Felt replied to TaurusSHO's post in a topic in The Lounge
Agree, Want nothing to do with Musk or Tesla as long as he is the CEO and Chairmen. Have to say after looking at the video, I am puzzled as to why the Rivian is there as they are built to survive that flooding of the system, so cleaning it up, that should be good to go.
  24. Was not trying to Musk it, Just went by the press release and with the rebate at $7,500, that makes the SUV $57,500 to start and the Truck at $59,000 to start. Still under $60,000, not around.
  25. I totally get the point your making, but then I think it also could depend on where one lives. With Costco having so many free samples, it has become common for folks to meet at Costco, taste all the free food even if they do not buy anything else. Plus most Costco's at least here are part of a much larger retail area that usually also has a Starbucks, Jamba Juice, etc. so I see multiple options for charge and go hang out. I do get the coffee shop, bar, YMCA thing too. SUV starts at $50,000 and Truck @ $51,500 for the early reservation holders who sign up now. I think Third Space is clearly also a regional thing in how one defines it as I have come to realize that how the east coast versus the west coast sees things like this is very different.
