Drove an '06 Malibu LT for a week.
Actually I only worked out the first one - still trying to quantify the others. A lot harder then I first thought. But I like your idea. I do have the title - Return to Greatness. I checked the USPTO site and it has not been trademarked.

Asking again...how long will the 3800 V6
I am not aware of any new EPA regulations on gas powered engines becoming effective over the next few year including those from CARB. I did a quick net search and came up empty. The only new regs I believe are those for diesel fuel with low sulfur content in 08. That would require a double check also.

2007 Holden VE SS V
Have you seen the latest Lambda intros including the Acadia? Have you seen the latest interior redo for the SRX? Have you seen the latest spy photos of the CTS including the interior shots? Have you seen the uncamoed photos of the 900 pickups? Have you seen the European release of the Opel Antara which will be the US Vue? These are the products of GM Gone Global. They get it!

Toyota's totally bizarre recall
Peter Valdes-Dapena, CNNMoney.com staff writer does not know what he is talking about. He probably used to report on the Feminine Hygiene industry before being demoted to automotive. He did zero follow up research.

Nissan, Renault Want GM Stake
Exactly - when the veil of the Ghosen BS is slowly pulled away the rhetoric is built on quick sand. If anything comes of this - GM/R-N will set up a joint venture to manufacture fuel filters!

Nissan, Renault Want GM Stake
GM in their factories would manufacture vehicles as Nissans. Much the same as DCX builds Raiders for Mitsubishi. Do you honestly think Nissan would want to take over a brownfield location such as OK City or Doreville GA or even possibly Morain? Do you honestly believe Nissan would give up the huge local tax breaks in a right to work state? Do you honestly think Nissan wants to deal with a super fund site? I can go on. And if the current brownfield locations are used, and ownership is still controlled by GM in any capacity or percentage particulary because of site clean up responsiblity - the UAW will be there. And some of GM's legacy cost would follow with that percentage.

Not a GM contract. Not a GM or a Toyota plant. It is a NUMMI plant.

Cranked Car Windows are going, going...
Choices can add complexity to the plant, complexity can equal cost to the whole chain from engineering, to manufacturing to selling and stocking!

Why not actually inspect a vehicle built in this century?

The dance is all about the plants Ghosn wants more capacity in North America -- and Wagoner's got it David Sedgwick | | Automotive News / July 17, 2006 - 6:00 am Like a canny investor, Carlos Ghosn has spotted an undervalued asset: General Motors' North American assembly plants. Those plants are efficient but underused; Ghosn wants to borrow a couple. What a joke - Does Carlos realize that he will also inherent the UAW and GM's $1500 premium. Don't believe what you read.

Ah and an early 1990's Infiniti Q45 is a Ford Taurus with George Bush's cowboy belt buckle glued to the hood.

Toyota's totally bizarre recall
Ah - my new GM vehicle only has the LATCH in the rear and not up front and the vehicle is not equipped with advanced air bags. How is that any different than these Toyota pickups once the cutoff switch is removed? Toyota should be faulted for not following the rules but not for lack of concern for safety on this issue.
-
Surprise - It's the Acadia
Ah - 20 years from now, I am sure he can find a nice, lower milage 2003 or there about CTS that will fit his needs when he is in the market for a new car. Hell might even find a good Lexus GS430 out there.

Toyota turns off airbag cutoff switch in Tundra
Less safe? Tell me exactly how. The vehicles being recalled have second row seats that do contain the Child Seat LATCH anchors. Put the child in the rear where it is most safe and the LATCHS are already there on the effected fleet. Not only that, it appears people have been doing just that because there have been no reports of injury because of the current set up in these non-complying vehicles. The cut off switch was intended to be used on two door pickups. In that case the front passenger seat would have the LATCH and the cutoff switch. If an owner of a two door pickup put a child safety seat in the vehicle they had the ability to turn off the airbag to prevent the chance of injury from the air bag in a crash. So again, what is the safety problem? You sound like you know what you are talking about!
