Damn this weather!
I was in Central Minnesota yesterday helping my cousins move and when i got there at about 10am they already had 4 inches of new snow on the ground already and when i left at about 11pm there was at least another foot on the hood of the Suburban. Almost got stuck in 4 wheel drive going up a little hill on the gravel road that leads from their cabin. And it was not letting up either.

Worst GM badge engineering job ever
I visited Spain a couple of years ago, and remembered seeing a lot of GMs badged very oddly. I can't remember any specifics, but I think I remember seeing a few with different badges on different ends of the vehicle as well. While in Seville staying at our hotel we heard an accident, so we looked outside, and a Tahoe, which looked to have a GMC grille on the front, but had Chevy Tahoe badges in the back, had pulverized some little car at an intersection.

a trip to Canada
Some friends and I took a trip to the fine country of Canada this weekend. We hit up Winnipeg and a few towns in between and a had a great time while doing it. On the way home we took the long way, through a lot of small towns in Southern Manitoba. One thing I happened to notice is that in a lot of these small towns close to the border, there are a lot of nice, new homes (and quite a few being built) and what looks to be a lot of successful small businesses. A ton different compared to the small towns of the same size just across the border in North Dakota. People on average don't build new homes on the North Dakota side of the border unless it is in a town of at least a few thousand. Mostly because you can only sell it for about a fifth of what it would cost you to build it. And, small businesses on this side of the border just can't do well enough to survive. Just wondering if some of you Canadians on the board could shed some light on why you think this is. Also while I was there, I saw a Silverado Special Edition (which didn't look to special) and a couple of Sierra Nevada editions (which just seemed to have 2 tone paint. Anything real special about them?

So I started my engine on fire...now what?
Big difference. We respond to about 30 rollovers a year on the fire dept and quick response. Never once have we responded to a gas station fire. I even asked some guys around here who have been fire fighters for 15+ years and have never either. I'm not going to worry about shutting off my car, I would rather not freeze my ass off.

So I started my engine on fire...now what?
Again, how many explosions have you heard of from people filling up while their car is running.

So I started my engine on fire...now what?
How many gas fires have you heard of at gas stations from people filling up with the car running? I've been on a volunteer fire department for 3 years now and have yet to respond to one, and this time of year almost everyone leaves their car running when they fill. Plus all you have to do is touch a metal portion of your car before you start filling to get rid of the static charge. So I don't worry about, I leave my car running 90% of the time. Especially this time of year. It has been 0-20 below for damn near 3 weeks now. tdellaringa, I would say tape up the wire with electrical tape for now, but then put a whole new set on sometime in the near future. Should probably do that around that mileage anyway. Then you should be good. And I think what 68 meant by that comment is that your car is FWD, and because he hates FWD, he would get rid of it if it was his.

Two Chevy drivers win the Duel 150's at Daytona
Also, Jeff Gordon's car failed post race inspection. It was almost an inch too low. I thought it was wierd how well he did after he ran poorly in the Bud Shootout before his car quit on him, and qualified mediocre at best for the Duels. NASCAR officials didn't beleive it was intentional, as they found a misaligned bold in a suspention component that caused it. Jeff Gordon will now start the Daytona 500 in 42nd, instead of 4th.

The Scoop on The G8 Being built in North America
It's not going to be getting 30mpg with the 3.6 as the Aura doesn't even do that. Even if it did, I don't think the Impala is going to be hitting 300000.

Chevrolet Avalanche LTZ

My new truck
I saw a regular cab, shortbox, 07 Silverado while I was out shopping this weekend. The big difference is that it was 4-wheel drive, and while it still had a rake, it was not as nearly as pronounced as it was on your Sierra. Also, I don't know if this was talked about earlier, but did you get the rail system in the bed?

I like it, even the rear, which is very TT. Not bad, but I would never buy it over a SKY.

In The Words Of Chris...
I love my docs as well but god damn do those things suck on ice, so I haven't wore them since December. Otherwise I just wear tennis shoes, I must have about 10 different pairs that I wear pretty consistantly. My favorite pair would have to be the Pumas I got a couple months ago. Absolutely amazing shoes. Comfortable, and so light that you can hardly tell they are on your feet.

Our Driveway...
HUD would be a big selling point to me, and the front end of the Acadia does look better IMO, but I still don't like the acadia tails too much, so it would be a tough decision for me if I were in the market.

1.5 Days In the Blue Army
You're not alone, and as stated earlier, I would be willing a lot of scion sales (the xB particularily) go to businesses and are not counted as fleet sales.

CHICAGO: 2008 Ford Taurus X
The real question is, who would prefer this thing over a Lambda. They are both in the same price range. The Lambdas look dead sexy next to this thing as far as I'm concerned, and look much less wagon-like compaired to this thing. As far as Freestyle/Taurus X vs. an Explorer, I'd much rather take the Explorer. That is becuase I have a lot more use for a body on frame SUV, that I do for a car-like wagon. Then again there are a lot of people who have no use for an SUV with the off-road capability of an Explorer, but still need the room and versatility of an SUV. That is where the Freestyle wins.

My 2003 Impala
Yeah I looked into the body molding too, not worth it to me I guess. If you are still in the market for a spoiler check out spoilerdepot.com. I got an Impala SS spoiler from them. They come painted and ready to bolt on at a very reasonable price. I have had mine on for over 2 years now and it still looks great.
