  1. My rate is 6.5 cents/kw and that's pretty low. Looking at averages by state, the average is 10.59 cents/kw. https://www.eia.gov/electricity/state/ I know that's still cheaper than fossil fuels, just stating a number that's more appropriate for comparisons.
  2. I think one of the biggest hurdles EVs will face is everybody that lives in lower income apartments and inner city homes that parking is on the street. Those places aren't putting a charger in front of every parking space. If you're paying public charging prices, the "savings" falls to near zero.
  3. Also, why? It isn't like Mercedes is making everything off-roady because they make the G Wagen or they're making everything track-oriented because there's a GLE Coupe AMG,
  4. I know, but, like, why even type that sentence out to immediately mention a non-jellybean possible future vehicle with a better aerodynamic drag coefficient? It was more a knock on, 'why did you just say what you said to immediately contradict yourself?' They could have "easily" made it a front-drive 4-cylinder crossover with some off-road chops. They could have done a similar job to the Bronco Sport/Cherokee Trailhawk. They didn't though and, at this point, I don't think it's necessary just because of the "Blazer" name.
  5. It likely all depends on what the pre-orders are but I'm sure there are work trucks preordered at the starting price. It's like looking for a truly base model truck now. They're made but very few buy them so they're kind of unicorns. I would put money on them producing the Pro and selling for the MSRP. Hey now, don't do the CC dirty like that. The CC is/was a very attractive vehicle. The poor mans A7. Did you miss the EQXX? Lower drag coefficient than the EQSh!t.
  6. A lot of the custom paint jobs has been taken over by the much cheaper and reversible wrapping.
  7. I assume you meant to reply to trinacriabob because I know customization is live and well.
  8. I don't think you've looked into customization in quite awhile then.
  9. Yup, I'm not 100% in love with the front end but I don't hate it so I'm going to assume it'll grow on me. Definitely Avalanche vibes and I dig that.
  10. As of their first model year, there is only WT and RST. 40k or 105k.
  11. It helps that is also has the door to expand the bed, like the Avalanche.
  12. Yeah, it definitely looks like a Chevy Hummer but also an Avalanche.
  13. @David, here’s your Silverado That’s quite the price gap
  14. Are they the only company with zero EVs?
  15. Then it's not actually a bait and switch. He can call it that but that certainly is not what it is. The problem is, at least in my opinion, people are idiots and continue to pay these absurd markups. If people stopped paying them, then the prices would go back to MSRP. I am also fine skipping dealerships all together. I'm not a huge fan of dealerships and they inherently feel "scammy" and my fair share of salespeople don't know jack about what they're selling and will do whatever just to get a sale and make money on their side. I get it. It's a job. They're there to make money but the way a good chunk of them go about it is crappy. My friend who works at the above GM dealership doesn't know jack about cars nor does he care. He likely couldn't answer 50% of questions about a vehicle but is just there to make sales. Heck, I've tried to buy through him before when I was searching for my Escape and later Focus (he worked a a Ford dealership then) he didn't immediately find what I was looking for in my price range and just never got back in touch with me and then on the Focus he tried to tell me I didn't want it and I should get a Fusion. Classis dealership upsell. Well that definitely turned into a rant...hahaha
  16. I've already given a story of my local Chevy/Buick/GMC dealership not marking anything up to any local buyer. They only have markups to people calling from out of state looking for X vehicle. They're trying to do right to their core buyers. https://www.steveschmittauto.com/ For fun, call this dealership who's stating the MSRP for a Bronco and see what they're really asking for it. https://www.trifordhighland.com/new/Ford/2021-Ford-Bronco-49a36ec40a0e09af6a62d4e9f741e7f6.htm Yes, bait and switching is his core point. I just asked for one example of this, a dealership advertised price being marked up on the lot.
  17. 100% You couldn't have said it much better. If you don't like the price, don't buy the fckn thing. Find a dealership that isn't marking vehicles up and buy from them. it isn't a Right to buy a certain vehicle. Somebody gets is. it seems insanely simple to understand at this basic level of reduced inventory with really high demand.
  18. ...so you don't have a single example of a dealership advertising one price and it's actually a different price...?
  19. Do you have a single example of an advertised price at MSRP and it's actually marked up?
  20. One of my friends had a 2011 Sonata that caught fire AFTER the supposed recall for the fire had been fixed. This was just last year. Now she has a CX-5 and will likely never touch Hyundai ever again. Hyundai spend $11,000 fixing the vehicle that was only worth about $8-9,000 at the time.
  21. Pulled directly from manufacturers' websites.
  22. You've never haggled a price other than what the manufacturer offers? Doubtful. Don't manufacturers advertise "starting at" prices? They're not baiting and switching unless the dealerships themselves are showing one price but it's really another price.
  23. You'll gladly accept a discount if they're offered but throw a fit and want dealerships shut down if they had an adjustment up? Go read a book on supply and demand. It's only a bait and switch if they're advertising it at MSRP and when you walk in it has as adjustment.
  24. Will you also decline the discounts when these are out for a few years and production finally catches up?
