Funny story. Back in the day I used to post in this place where they were having a debate on how much the new Camaro would weigh. This was back before GM made any firm announcements about numbers so all we had to go on was their claim that it would be 200 pounds, minimum. Anyways, there were a bunch of trolls over there who were bound and determined that there was NO WAY that the Camaro could lose that much weight. Naturally, I enjoyed making fun of them, because trolls are funny. ANYWAYS, there was this one who thought he was frickin' Matlock or something. He kept hounding and hounding and HOUNDING me until finally I just pulled a number outta my tuckus and said "it'll weigh 3650 pounds in SS trim." They all laughed. Then GM announced savings of 223 pounds on a 3909-pound Zeta, and C/D had an old Zeta that weighed in at 3870. Now I'm laughing. Old Matlock still stinks it up pretty bad over in that old place. One night he called me immoral for buying a Ram truck. We all laughed. He was a whackjob.

Trim Levels, Pricing, Configurator For '16 Camaro Revealed!
For the right price it would give Hellcat Mopars all kinds of grief in a straight line and lay all competition to waste on a road course.

Trim Levels, Pricing, Configurator For '16 Camaro Revealed!
It might mean a Z/28 with an LT4, base interior, and 1LE-type suspension. It might mean a full-bling ZL1 that only weighs as much as the old Z/28. Or, as long as we are wishing, it may mean both

VW News: Rumorpile: More Volkswagen Execs Shown the Door, Porsche CEO Possible Successor
No worries man. It's becoming a pretty complex story. At first I thought it might be out of the headlines in a few weeks, but I'm beginning to think this sucker's got legs. As regards the funding issues: this may be an opportunity for GM, via Opel, to get an "in" via tech-sharing or an ownership stake. The European market is stagnant, and if you're going to make any headway conquest appears to be the only real way.

Ya... Urinal Puck guy was a bit of an odd cat. The best part of the whole air freshener thing was that he was using it in a change locker that a co-worker had borrowed him, so the stench remained long after the guy had vacated.

VW News: Rumorpile: More Volkswagen Execs Shown the Door, Porsche CEO Possible Successor
As I've been reading through all the stuff about VW I've been wondering about the legal ramifications. And then I remembered this story from shortly before the emissions scandal. You know, where they were planning to split the company into different business units: http://www.automobilemag.com/features/news/1506-report-volkswagen-group-may-split-into-four-holding-companies/ In hindsight it sure sounds like they knew what was about to unfold and wanted to minimize the damage, eh?

Earlier today we had a PAID SUBSCRIBER describe your behaviour as ban-worthy. You have no cred. But thanks for outing yourself. And the personal attack on me. Fuel to the fire, no doubt :D

I don't mind trolls. Really, I don't. They exist to make reasonable folks look like geniuses. But when you got one guy who posts only as a guest to avoid being dissed for trolling and another who only has an account so he can dish out downvotes for opinions he doesn't like... well, no wonder they were both considered jokes elsewhere. Bottom line: with friends like these, it's no wonder Ford is held in the same regard as social diseases in some places :D

VW News: EPA Alleges Volkswagen Used Software on Diesel Vehicles To Skirt Clean-Air Rules
"Mercedes engineering is at the pinnacle of human achievement." Uh... no. I'll grant that there were a few Germans involved, but the Manhattan and Apollo projects are much, much greater than any mere automobile.
