MT- Corvette Grand Sport vs 911 S
I don't know about forums but in the SCCA club I do autocross occasionally plenty of guys with Vettes of different vintage and Porsches as well, and while they all great guys I doubt any of these guys did cross shopped. It is not really about being biased , they are either Corvette fans or Porsche.

MT- Corvette Grand Sport vs 911 S
Personally, I think I will have to agree on this with Frisky, most people buying the Vette, especially GS probably can afford the 911 as well. But I think it is like Mustang and Camaro, most people who are buying one not likely to buy the other. 911 maybe a better car overall but I doubt too many people will cross shop. If I had that kind of money I doubt I would get 911 because I never really liked them. People usually spend that kind of money on something they are passionate about.

Saw yesterday new Cruze. Looks exactly like Elantra. Chevy could have and should have done better.

Ultimate Dream Car Garage: Road Trip Edition
@A Horse With No Name at least two weeks - that is what I would take, but that's is more then 400 miles per day, and taking back roads - that will be close to 7-8 hours of driving per day. @cp-the-nerd At $40k/$20k I tried to keep it in the affordable range for the average person. The goal is not just the car but the whole experience.

Ultimate Dream Car Garage: Road Trip Edition
Frisky's posts gave me an idea to do one related to something I want to do one day: cross country trip. So the rules are as follows: 1. You have to choose TWO cars: one NEW and one USED. 2. Cars have to be STOCK. 3. Budget for EACH of the cars is: New car: $40k. Used car: $20k. 4. Cars have to be comfortable and reliable enough to cross the United States from coast to coast at least twice (East to West and West to East). Have fun.

Industry News: New J.D. Power Study Reveals Most Drivers Don't Use A Vehicle's Navigation System
I just recently had the opportunity to drive fully loaded Subaru Outback and Mazda 6. While Subaru's Eye Sight safety system is a little bit too intrusive with too many beeps it is useful and rated very highly, I liked Mazda's system better because it was less intrusive. However, Navigation in both vehicles is absolutely useless. And it is a shame that people pay premium to use that option in the built in large screens and then they have to use phones or other Navigation devices. It really puzzles me how manufacturers system be so bad when the market is flooded with good navigation systems, let alone Google and Apple Maps. It is really time for them to embrace smartphone integration in all the new vehicles.

Quick Drive: 2016 Mazda3i Grand Touring
A note in regards to corrosion. I am an ex owner of 2006 Mazda 3 hatchback (the fun one with 2.3L engine and the manual). I live in NJ, so plenty of winter salt. Got it new and drove 250k miles in 8 years (had very long commute). The car was flawless, had some rust and issues toward the end, but nothing that can't be expected from a car with that kind of mileage. Also know somebody who used to own 2013. Yes the back seat is tighter then Corolla (Corolla has bigger back seat then Camry btw) or some of the competition, but the car drives great and a lot of fun. Much better then most other cars of the segment.

Anyone else mountain bike?
Yes, I think the bigger wheels help on the trails, plus I am pretty tall with long legs so the bigger wheels kind of work out for me better. I "test drove" both 26 and 29 and while 26 felt more agile, the 29 felt easier rolling and better size for me. Yea, that the entry level Marlin, good enough for my needs for now. Maybe, down the road when my son gets older I will give it to him and buy something higher end. I am proud to say that I put my whole family on bikes. Even wife started riding. Not on the off road trails or anything extreme but a family ride in a nice park is great.

Industry News: Leasing Reaches Record High, Could Grow Further
Thank you for expanding, I see your point. However, this works only if somebody wants to replace the car after 3 years. If somebody keeps the car for 5 and more years vs continuous lease payment, then it is not so clear cut anymore IMO. Taking your example: Assuming after three years somebody managed to lease a car with similar payment. Then: $570 x 60 = $34200 If somebody bought the car in 5 years he will pay it off for total of $42051 plus $3k registration, so $45051. Assuming depreciation with that kind of mileage is around 75% the residual value will be around $10k, so $35051. So it seems at 5 years it is pretty much a wash and then after that the person leasing is still paying $570 a month while the person owning only has depreciation to worry about (which will be negligible at this point) and the maintenance, which might be high because of the mileage but I doubt as high as $570 a month, I guess it just a matter of personal preference if somebody wants a new car every three years or he is happy to keep car for the long run.
