Is a system possible, where everyone is allocated a certain number of -1's each week - for example, 3? So each week, a person can only downvote three times?

- Quick question about China's interest in GM
Really? That's your internet troll threshold/tolerance limit? MT forums must be a Usenet BBS from 1987. #dukakis88!! I speak the truth. #truthhurts #lolwhiteppl #dealwithit #welcometotheinternet #getonmylvl- Quick question about China's interest in GM
White people are okay with Western companies operating Chinese companies/subsidiaries but if a Chinese company does it they're all like OH NOES WHO ORDERED TEH RED CHINESE TAKEOUT TAKEOVER?!?!- VW News: Volkswagen CEO Martin Winterkorn Steps Down
I wager this whole ordeal is diesel's second death knell in North America's passenger car market. VW single-handedly overcame the stigma attached to the diesels of yore, indirectly allowing companies like GM the ability to finally break back into the market. The coming Cruze diesel owes its existence to positive perceptions earned by VW. Now everyone feels duped. By the time VW can even regain any trust, diesel will have been usurped by hybrids and electrics.- VW News: Volkswagen Issues A Stop-Sale On TDI Models, CEO Apologizes

The 'N' designation is weak and even sounds knock-off'y of BMW's 'M.' That said, I'd like to see Hyundai give their smaller cars the N treatment to match Ford's ST vehicles. It may spur other companies to follow suit.- MT: The Escalade V Is Coming.
The New Soccer Mom Mobile of the 21st century for the top 5%! So... like an Escalade then?- MT: The Escalade V Is Coming.
All the aforementioned vehicles are irrelevant against the Model X.- Toyota News: Revealed: 2016 Toyota Prius
Ugly, but not surprising. The Prius' aura has been usurped by electric cars and without that aura, it's just a bland Uber/Taxi runabout. If they kept a sedate appearance, it'd slowly lose sales to better designed hybrid rivals from Hyundai/KIA or hyper-efficient gas offerings from the likes of Mazda or Ford. This thing's appearance even got coverage in tech news, which is pretty impressive given that everyone in the tech sphere was focused on the Apple announcements. That has to count for something.- 39 replies

It's weird as hell that Wings gets $h! thrown his way for posting Ford news and dispatches. It's one thing to point out issues with the PR releases themselves, it's another to shoot the messenger a -1 for his effort. Whatever animosity was carried over from MT forums should stay there. I work in PR and while Ford's releases are often a little goofy for my tastes, at least someone's spent a minute to post them on this website to foster discussion. That's what a forum is kinda sorta about. This place has been dead as hell at various points over the years and it's nice seeing some regular posting. If you're not a fan of Ford's PR, then just Google up a reputable source that has covered the press release, but has the proper journalistic research and inquiry, and post that in response.- Poll: Up votes/Down Votes

I really just want something a bit more up to date for my Toronado (if I had the money). No need for 500+ horsepower. Swift and silent... a mild Turbo-6 would be fine. That Monte Carlo is way overkill on an astronomical budget. If I had a resto car like that, I'd get a modern port-injected 5.3L from a junkyard because they're inexpensive and can be found anywhere. Couple of mods and it would make 330-350 hp. If I was doing a G-Body resto-mod... - Id go with a TT 3.6 LF3 for the Regal ....Id get the engine from a crashed CTS V-Sport and install it in the Buick...you know...Turbo 6 connection... - Grand-Prix would be a 6.0 LS2 @ 400HP/400 ft.lbs torque from a Pontiac GTO...because Pontiac... - Monte Carlo would get the 5.3 liter...like we said about a Camaro...for 327 cubic inch nostalgia purposes and Chevrolet - Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme would be getting an LS3...from a wrecked Pontiac G8 or Chevrolet SS or 2008 Corvette... I wouldnt want more than the 400 or so horsepower with all these engines I chose. Actually...Id be more than happy with your choice of the 5.3 @ 330-350 horsepower range you chose... I chose those engines for some sort of connection I made with history and such... These are my restomod G-Body models. 1987/1988 Chevy Monte Carlo LS 1981 Grand Prix LJ 1987 442 and/or 1983 Hurst/Olds 1987 GN GNX- Industry News: New Study Reports Many New Technologies Aren't Being Used
Yeah, while the pricing doesn't appear too terrible, it's strange that someone would choose to allot data strictly to their vehicle, instead of just adding it to their existing plan and using it wherever their phone goes. I suppose if an automaker incorporated a WiFi Extender which boosted a smartphone's data signal throughout a larger area, that'd be a neat feature, worthwhile for people camping or events/festivals. That's a little presumptuous. It really has nothing to do with debt... It has more to do with the fact that a smartphone with a ten dollar mount from Amazon has more capability and slicker operation than an automaker's optional system boasting just one laggy music streaming option. We want car tech. We just want modern tech instead of antique hardware, and half-baked Java apps written by interns.- 9 replies

I think a couple of those items aren't used because they're typically unenjoyable to operate. Car apps either lag, or their development significantly lags behind mobile platform peers. Unless I'm mistaken, those mobile car routers require a subscription to use, and nearly every mobile phone has hotspot functionality. Why would anyone pay extra per month for a couple gigabytes of data that's only available in a vehicle, when they could just tack it on to an existing phone plan?- 9 replies
