Thanks for the input Chris! My initial favourite was neither of the two. But my editor likes the first, whereas my instinct was a cropped version of number 2. I'll probably be butting heads with her all day today over this.

Why not? We all love to snap pictures! And we have some very talented photographers. For the rest of us, their criticism is very much appreciated. I covered a rugby game today and this will probably be the headliner photo: Also liked this one:

I've seen quite a few in Vancouver. Shame that it appears they're less successful out East.

SAAB News: Could BMW be Bidding for Saab?
All five of them!! On paper this seems like a good idea. In practice, I'm pessimistic it'd work. Unless BMW mandated joint SAAB/BMW or SAAB/Mini dealerships, the Scandanavian brand's limited dealer network would hinder the brand. Going toe-to-toe with the Buick's, VW's and Acura's would be a challenge. Mini had immediate brand awareness that BMW could milk from the get-go. SAAB has nowhere near the brand cachet. That being said, if they could pull it off, it'd be a really cool revival for a brand that even I believe deserved a lot more love than it got.

Range Rover Evoque Convertible Leaked
http://www.autoblog.com/2012/02/24/range-rover-evoque-convertible-leaks-ahead-of-geneva-debut/ Wow! I love, love, love it! My parents are picking between an SRX or an ML diesel, but I'd be making them put this on their short list.

Aucun secteur de l'Automobile
There's no bureaucracy and there's no 'anti-auto hate group' conspiracy. There's just a string of bad financial decisions and hard luck. But if you stick to your guns, you can be back in the seat of a Challenger in due time. Is there no way at all to start a semester of college in the summer? I didn't just go into journalism from the get-go. I built up a base of credits in the summer and applied them to the program when the fall semester started. It has lessened the load considerably. Find out what non-journalism courses are required, like Poli-Sci and Econ 101. General classes like that run every semester and you can likely catch them in the summer. What I also did was take mechanics. I have full motorcycle technician training behind me. If you aim to do automotive journalism, see if you can find something that pertains to the category. Something like a mechanics or even a body-work or painting course. It gives you a leg-up in two ways: a) you show the school you're serious about your goals; b) you have something you can use if you don't make it in the first time. And seriously, find yourself the White Accord. If you crave handling and RWD thrills, get a ~600cc motorcycle for cheaps and insure it for the spring/summer, then insure the car for the fall/winter.

What $2500 Buys You
Kelly Blue Book says that a car in this condition is about $3,100 - 3,500. With the new pump, belts and rubber, plus all the 'luxury' fixin's, I'd say two-and-a-half grand is pretty decent. I'm planning to add at least eight Type-R or MUGEN stickers to the vehicle. That makes it go faster.

What $2500 Buys You
My brother is a moron who can't spend money properly. So he bought a $h!ty VW Cabriolet from 1990 with busted mechanicals for a grand. He didn't even change the oil that sat in the car for nearly a decade and the water pump didn't function. So naturally, he nearly died while driving it. Because he's an idiot. I decided to find him something that would run properly, and reliable. The fringe benefit is that his pathetic sack of organs won't end up in anyone else's body. I'm doing the public a favour. So I found this: Clean, inside and out, with about 150,000kms (~95,000 miles). It's a 1993 EX-L, so it's loaded and has a sunroof. Best of all, it has a stick! All for $2,500! New waterpump, new belt, and new Michelin rubber. It was owned by a little old lady who wants to go to church in an Acura RDX now. Incredibly smooth riding and driving and quick too. If only it were white.

Clever idea by GM and the end-result is pretty good looking too. Naturally the feckless morons on Autoblog and other outlets say this is 'rebadging.'

Do kids hate cars?
Oh forgot, Monster Trucks are another culturally valuable thing the automobile gave us! Yee-haw!

Do kids hate cars?
But we don't have children that get sick at 2am. Ergo, we don't need a car for that situation. i sure wish i could have sexted pictures of my p3nis to a girl i was chasing, or been able to take pictures of naked conquests and send them around to friends when i was younger. you know, the important, meaningful, and culturally valuable things you can do with a cell phone. that, and play games. Zomg I'm sure many people my age wish they had the opportunity to do all the culturally valuable things one can do with a car. Y'know, burnouts, guzzling limited resources, polluting the atmosphere, contributing to obesity and asthma in children, vehicular manslaughter... all that fun stuff! A few individuals compared to the millions of sheep driving Toyotas. Oddly, some of the most individualistic and creative people I know drive Toyota's. How is it that technology is making people more conformist? Technology allows people to break away from the mainstream. Technology is democratizing information. Cellphones have enabled people to topple entire regimes. And again, I'm not sure how the automobile made people 'less' conformist. So you drive the same car that a bajillion others do? How very individualistic of you!
