  1. On the front page, the only car in the Member Garage that shows up is Z28's Cobalt. And when you click on it to get to the rest of the Member Garage, this is what you get: ERROR: Database error. Cannot execute the query: SELECT evento, titolo, descrizione, file, click, rate, trate, autore, idauth, peso, data FROM mkp_gallery WHERE id = '1' AND validate = '1' MySql Error returned: Unknown column 'idauth' in 'field list' MySql Error code: 1054
  2. Thanks, ocnblu! I've always sorta taken pride in the fact that even though I'm young I don't think third-gen Camaros and G-bodies from the 80's are the answer to man's problems. I owe it to my father; from the time I was around six years old I've worked side by side by him on his projects; a 1952 Chevrolet pickup truck, a 1935 Ford 1 1/2-ton dump truck, and now his 1937 Packard Super Eight. He's the one who has primarily guided me in what my tastes are, bringing me to countless shows over the years. Although he doesn't quite share my affinity for the oversized land barges of the 70's, I can't say I blame him; I'm not terribly fond of what I grew up with, so why should I expect him to be? I think that's what I enjoy most about the hobby is constantly learning about what I don't know about.
  3. 1977 Ford Ranchero GT
  4. So lame. Try THIS instead: Oldsmobile, 1977 Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yeah!
  5. See, that's where you're wrong. Because however elaborate the exquisite coachwork of a Rolls-Royce may be, they have always been remarkably simplistic mechanically. I dare you to find a more inviting engine bay! (diesel-powered French cars excluded)

You mean you weren't a father at age nine?!

Is it all black, or purple with black fenders? The black one is a Ford and the purple one is a Buick. I saw the Buick in person at a Concours d'Elegance a number of years ago; the Ford only in books and on the web thusfar. Both are town cars. Sixty8: Good choice! Better if the grille shell said SIMPLEX on it somewhere, though! Picky prick?! Absolutely! But you gotta start somewhere, and this Brewster-bodied roadster from the 30's is an okay start, I guess. Sure ain't no four-door '77 Cutlass, though! OB: Thanks a bunch for the happy birthday; it is most appreciated!
  9. All the time; now that I'm no longer young and cute my parents don't make the extra effort to shake down the relatives for exclusive gifts. Christmas cards with "& Happy Birthday too! XOXO" scrawled into the margins are also a popular offering. "Ohhh, he can wait one more day..... he'll be fine." Thanks to all of you who have already wished me a happy birthday and those that have yet to do so; I appreciate it very much!
  10. What about done to death classic garbage like '64 -'65 Mustangs and tri-year Thunderturds? Or any Thunderturd for that matter; what a terrible car from beginning to end! I absolutely second Sixty8's suggestion of every Rolls-Royce and Jaguar made after WWII, Rolls especially. The money that you pay for one of those piles leaves NO EXCUSE for the car's big change over a forty year span being the switch from round sealed beams to square sealed beams; give me a f@#king break! Also, you're a loser if you bought a Porsche Cayenne. How much of a dick extension does one person need? A Porsche TRUCK?! Are you for real?!

    Happy birthday!
  12. Bad coil pack?
  13. Crane-Simplex You're probably all getting sick of seeing this car, but y'know what? Tough $h!!
  14. Soooooooo, how long after receipt of payment should we expect to see these calendars at our door, anyways?

    Toyotas hitting EVERYBODY, especially Fly.
  16. A powder blue 1966 Lincoln Continental coupe; very random
  17. I'm not chipping in for any sub unless it's a nuclear-powered ex-Soviet deal like every James Bond villain seems to have.
  18. Studebaker President This handsome all-original 1932 coupe-roadster belongs to my friend Robert; what a machine!
  19. Gee, how'd you ever manage to guess that one?! And speaking of ugly cars, what's the latest on your buddy's LTD; that still for sale?
  20. A scummy old man driving a scummy old 1972 Plymouth Scamp.
  21. Right..... and what about the fact that the original gauge clusters get thrown in the trash in favor of cheesy aftermarket digital ones usually? And the fact that they all get horrible carriage tops made of all sorts of disgusting velours and other fabrics, often times over the entire roof and not just the quarter roof the car originally came with? And the fact that many times the cars have their entire interiors ripped out and thrown away and replaced with aftermarket "custom" consoles and nonoriginal seats and door panels upholstered in fake Louis Vuitton prints and every other horrible thing? It's not as reversible as you make it out to be.
  22. Okay, the whole godawful trend is based on the Chevrolet Caprice because that's all ghetto rats can afford. The words refer to the basic styles of the cars, so..... Donk= 1970-1976 Box= 1977-1990 Bubble= 1991-1996 "Box" and "bubble" are somewhat clever, but "donk" is lost on me.

Good thread idea! Affordable vehicle: pre-2000 Chevrolet/GMC K2500; standard cab, long bed, 454 Money is no object vehicle: Brewster-bodied 1915 Crane-Simplex rumble seat roadster In 1915, the chassis alone cost $5000; having it bodied pushed the final cost to over $8000. This is the only one ever made. It has a 564 cubic inch inline six (that's 94 cubes a hole!). I saw this car in person about six years ago at a Concours d'Elegance, moving under its own power, nonetheless, and it sounded like a goddamn locomotive; this car is unbelievable! I'm a grown man of six feet tall now and I'd be about eye-level with the radiator cap; what a monster!
  24. In no particular order: 1. Ocnblu because he's a funny bastard. 2. Balthazar because he's tweeked like me but actually has the money and space (and infinitely more know-how!) to carry out his ideas, plus he's got a wealth of knowledge between what he knows himself and the millions of books and pieces of sales literature and other reference materials he has. 3. Knightfan because I still owe him a winter car! 4. Camino so I can see all his neat stuff in person and also beat it into him in person that he needs to keep them 'Hawks! 5. Wildmanjoe so we can roll in his mack daddy Grand Marquis. And I second the whole one big get-together idea because you're ALL cool
