  1. Well, we know MGZ06 is going to Times Square ... but, what about the rest of ya'll? Heh...I'm surprised nobody has started this particular thread yet.... Anyway, I'll be spending my New Year's Eve alone ... in a hospital bed.... I have surgery to remove my gallbladder tomorrow (Friday) afternoon ... and given my heart history, they may keep me until sometime Sunday (Jan 1).... What fun! *rolls eyes* HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! 2. *raises eyebrow* In that case...maybe that's the one I've heard.....
  3. Hmmm..... Nice Riv, XP! A cousin of mine has an '85 Riviera....grey in color ... gorgeous car! As for the last generation Rivs...I've always wanted one....just haven't found one to my liking yet...he he he. Sounds fun!!!! Enjoy your time there! HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone! *sighs* As for me, it looks (as of now, anyway) like I'll be spending my New Year's Eve alone ... in a hospital bed.... 5. Oh....sweet!!!!!!!!!! I may have to check out that '69 Dodge Charger ;). Thanks for sharing, OG! 6. Hmmm.... If I did hear Carol of the Bells, then "a lot of musical reference to 'God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen'" is a severe understatement. The beginning, middle and end of it sounded exactly like God Rest Ye, nothing like Carol Of The Bells.... *shrugs*

*chuckles* I know how that goes! Let me know if you want some ideas..... And, balthazar, I know exactly what you mean about not having enough time to do all you want to do ... all too well :(.
  8. Actually...my '97 malibu and '00 mc LS both had the "cancel" button function for the cruise control. I sure liked that..... As I mentioned previously, I was surprised that the Buick Century rental I used this past August didn't have that feature....and it is a newer car than either of my former 2 cars..... 9. Yes, yes it is.... And, actually, I think the Christmas song that is played most often is their version of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman" ... at least, that's what it sounds like to me.... I don't believe I've heard their version of Carol Of the Bells. Another great group (imho) for the "odd" music ... is Mainheim Steamrollers. My aunt has had their Christmas CD for years...and I love listening to it..... 10. No...I wouldn't say that....he he he. I like the functionality of the stalk. But, I was "weirded out" earlier this year. When I went east in August on my 2-week road trip, I rented a Buick Century...and was shocked to see the stalk on the steering column looked VERY much like the stalk on my '87 MC LS (with a few updates, of course). Meanwhile, neither my former '97 malibu or '00 mc LS had the stalk ... in favor of other ways to accomplish those functions. Guess I was shocked that the newer Century was more like my older '87 MC LS than the newer '97 malibu or '00 mc LS.... *shrugs* Cort, "Mr MC" / "Mr Road Trip", 32swm/pig valve/pacemaker MC:family.IL.guide.future = http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort/ Models.HO = http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort/trainroom.html "How much longer will they be around?" ... Crap. I'm still awake :(.
  12. Highlights of what I received yesterday: books: Chevrolet SS … by Robert Genat Wrigley Field history Car-related: California Car Duster California Interior Duster Gift certificate for lube/oil/filter change Misc: Gift certificate for haircut heated blanket heated bed sheet Flavored spoons (for hot cocoa, etc) DVD player Dukes of Hazzard DVD, Season 2 ...and a few other things ;). But, no condoms ... not that I'd have a use for 'em anyway...heh. I need to change that, of course...lol. Friends and family are good gifts, too, of course!!! And, despite Gramps' death a few weeks ago, I DID lead the regular Sunday service for Pinecrest (where he and Gram had lived since 2001...Gram died 2002). It was a special service, whereby the pianist (a former Elgin resident that is a dear family friend) picked out 7 hymns...and I picked out 6 readings (5 poems, etc., and 1 Bible selection) ... and did a mini "hymn sing/read sharing" service..... Then, we spent a few hours at my Aunt's house ... and celebrated with a CHICAGO BEARS victory that clinched the division and a first round bye in the playoffs!!!! 13. *chuckles* So do I ... I didn't, at first ... but then, family friends of ours bought a cinnamon brown 1979 Caddy Sedan Deville ... and I absolutely love it. They've let me drive it the last few times I've visited them in TN ... what a treat! Gotta love Sixty8's red coupe, too ;). I know how you're feeling, Josh, albeit for different reasons. With my abdominal pains the last month ... and out of work, I've been staying up late...and sleeping in quite longer than I had hoped. Yet, I don't feel like I've been rested/relaxed....because of the pains. *shrugs* Hope to find out this week if gallbladder removal surgery is in my future ... I plan to try to get to work tomorrow, but I know I'll be up late tonight...because I'm wide awake right now :(. Aye. 16. Not sure I buy this one completely. After all, it is still RWD like other Chargers.... Chevy can't say the same thing about what they claim is the "monte carlo" since 1995............... 18. Awesome, Walt!!!! Looks scrumptious :). And, of course, MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY HOLIDAYS to everyone!!!! 19. Post 'em.... Course, I'm not a fan of the current monte carlos in NASCAR....so, those I may chuckle at ... but, who cares? Post 'em....and that, buddy, is an ORDER!
  20. *raises eyebrow* As in 4th gen MCSS? Hmmm.....could you be tempted for me....to find out what they're askin'? He he he.....
  21. Hmmm....let's try this again, shall we? I posted already, or rather, tried to...and got "page cannot be displayed"....ah, well..... With the "balmy" (above freezing) temperatures tonight, I took my '87 MC LS to a touchless car wash, figuring some clean was better than no clean. I then took it for a nice, long drive :). I don't have a garage for it right now (it is the daily driver), so I have to rely on temperatures getting above freezing for a day or 2 in a row before I can get it cleaned during the winter months ... so, like tonight, I take advantage of the time I have..... 22. *grins* I remember you mentioning this one before!!!! IIRC, you even included pictures of it...just for me :).
  23. *nods* Thank you!!! So what? I think you need to post the pics!!!! He he he And, Walt ... excellent pics!!!!
  24. Not a problem, 62impala ... was hoping I had just misinterpreted what you wrote..... Hmmm...but, see ... I love the Impala, too. My dad had a 68 Impala SS that I'd love to have back ... as well as a '58 Impala convertible that would be sweet to have. But, frankly, I would hope that Dad would never buy a FWD impala ... it's bad enough that he and Mom have a FWD monte carlo..... To me, the FWD versions are a slap in the face.... *shrugs* And, I agree with Sixty8 ... not every car has to be RWD. I've never asked for that...never want it. I'm just sick'n'tired of GM/Chevrolet slapping names of former RWD cars on FWD cars that, well ... never mind ;).
  25. Out of the ordinary? *pauses to think* Well....all 5 of my current MCs....he he he. But, out of the ordinary for me would be my former '97 malibu ... and perhaps even my former '00 mc LS.... *shrugs* Don't think that's what you're lookin' for though...sorry :(.
