Palin as 'Church Lady' is by no means qualified for the top slot should the doddering McCain keel in the middle of a prospective first term in office. Palin works best when her wee head is filled by her programmers for the purposes of rapid-regurgitation; i.e. her Convention speech and her vapid recital at the 'debate'. She really forged ahead capitulating those talking points Thursday night. She has less substance than the air (not including LA, where the air can be chewed and spit-out). I don't know. The void left when the Z28s and Trans Ams bowed out, for just those 2 models, was around 85 thousand per year. I think they (GM) just need have faith in what they're doing, execute it properly and grow the market gradually. I've seen the sales projections ranging from 55-100,000 units per year. I think that the damn thing is eminently doable, done right.

I admire the proportions and the stance of the upcoming Camaro over the aesthetics of the Corvette. It was love at first sight as I saw it in the flesh for the first time in the Doraville assembly plant in April 2006. Saw/heard them drive it back onto the hauler after its 24 hour stay in our place. My sentiments too. I can't recall precisely when it was, but the initiative seems to have come undone when Wilmington was assigned the task of building the 'L' car. With all that is transpiring and that which is still in flux I wonder how Saturn will weather it all. In the end, assuming GM fully rights itself, I could easily see the North American market resembling Europe where no single manufacturer captures no more than 20% of it all.
