GM Burning Cash Article
With so many variants Corvette could stand alone. It'd add to the mystique. Just no 'Vette people-hauler please.

Allowing GM North America to submerge and go the way of Atlantis negates the considerable portions which still work here.

GM Burning Cash Article
Here's hoping the UAW and General Motors discover the meaning of spartan and symbiotic right quick. No more rich buyouts unless it's a for 'once and all' type deal. The old days were done long ago. Good luck to both entities.

Desperate Times
The Domestics could well begin any turnaround (or continue to build on that which has already begun) if they simply remain faithful to the basics of quality and great design. Just my groggy Sunday-morning-waiting-for-the-coffee analysis. Let's finish the job.

To be fair, tobacco's done it's best in controlling population growth. Especially Marlboro Lights: The standard issue cigarette of teen-aged girls.

Desperate Times
The article written by Jerry Flint spreads the blame around for the dreadful pickle the Domestic Automobile Manufacturers are facing. There is more than enough to go around. Blame that is, not pickles. The Link: http://www.forbes.com/free_forbes/2008/063...artner=yahoomag

Food for some inconveniently unpleasant thoughts 'Dog. Thanks for bringing those up.

Toyota 'Sees' GM and Raises...
Been hoping the same thing. The programs are highly secretive and proprietary. We 'see' the tip of the 'berg. I'm sure GM'll not strike it.

Toyota 'Sees' GM and Raises...
True. Yet they are possessed of a unique singularity of purpose, not to mention 'possibly' being funded by their home Government. An unalloyed sin here, but everywhere else, the norm. It'd be great to see GM embrace cunning and stealth too.

Toyota 'Sees' GM and Raises...
Toyota will announce a new strategy and a new 'plug in' today. Hint: It has nothing to do with Glade or air fresheners, but it'll roil the atmosphere somewhat. GM's been beating the Volt drum for some time now, and along comes Toyota in an attempt to grab themselves a share of the 'glory' attached to the debate. the link: http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article...1/80611032/1014

Someone Loves GM
Granted 'pops, but I believe it's an 'arrow' which should already have been in their quiver. Yet I've increased my position re: GM stock as an act of faith. The next-gen Cobalt should seek to surpass Corolla in as many categories as possible.

Someone Loves GM
At last a change from the doom and gloom. I hope additionally GM can attract some bright young minds. First, from Geoffrey Helt an article entitled "Can GM -- Yes, GM -- Save Us From $10 Gas?" http://biz.yahoo.com/minyanville/080610/20...ve_id.html?.v=1 Then, from Barron's, Steven M. Sears outlines how to "Profit by Strangling GM". Read on. http://online.barrons.com/article/SB121304...ns&ru=yahoo

Chevy Volt: Traveling Public Roads and Hitting Its Mark
True. The in-house hype for the 'beloved' Aztek was excruciating for at least 2 years in advance. I can't recall how much outside rah-rah there was leading into it's debut. The SSR is/was another case in point. Both the 'tek and SSR landed with a thud. My brother-in-law still drives his SSR around his community painted up in the colors/logo of his HVAC business. GM , just surprise us once in a while.

GM announces big changes to deal with higher gas prices
Why couldn't Hummer be scaled down to go head to head with Subaru?

GM announces big changes to deal with higher gas prices
That's fine. By chance they should have had it right by now. I'm only playing Devil's advocate. Nothing'd please me more than to see them succeed beyond anyone's wildest dreams.

GM announces big changes to deal with higher gas prices
Not a problem. Be nice if you were Rick Wagoner and we could arm wrestle for the future of General Motors. Mano-a-Mano.

GM announces big changes to deal with higher gas prices
Are you a Contractor, Hourly or Salary? There are a handful of highly qualified hourly who roam the GM empire setting-up equipment and processes. Not as many as there once were, but a few. Try to figure out a place to meet. Starbucks on Kirkwood Highway near Best Buy?

GM announces big changes to deal with higher gas prices
Wilmington, DE. Via Doraville, Ga , GMSPO Bensalem, PA and Fisher Body Trenton, NJ. Going back to 1976. I have friends who were transferred into various GM plants across the country and are still working since the mid-1990's. Some found their way to Janesville, WI. I passed on that one in '94 having a family member ill at the time.

GM announces big changes to deal with higher gas prices
It's Spring and "GM's Annual List of Sweeping Changes" makes it's debut. Had enough? One day it'll come down to Rick W. and the janitor covering the overnight shift at the Renaissance Center. Get it right already. Tune it so it will run. No more three-quarter hearted measures, else lose the customers who still come to the showrooms. Why should I care? Why should anyone?

AWD low-slung Hummer-themed sports vehicles. 4 or 5 seats. Take it to Subaru and send those owners to cry on a whale's shoulder.

That's fine. I think I know what's going on. I want another person's take on it. Fire at will.

GM announces big changes to deal with higher gas prices
'Zilla; Even though we were warned, this hit us by surprise somewhat. (imo) Maybe now we'll learn. Or be taught the hard way. Yet there are still folks who won't bat an eye until fuel surpasses $8 per gallon. Still be those who are able to afford the luxury and utility of a GMC Denali or the ubiquitous Silverado as they evolve toward increased efficiency. It's natural selection as it applies to machinery. Those who survive the upcoming 'fuel wars' (my weak attempt at humor) will look back and laugh at this some day.
