  1. Following that logic, tiny car owners (well it's the former owners really) drive up auto-insurance costs for those that aren't horribly killed.
  2. Not interested in seeing anyone's under-done Chuck Roast 'boi.
  3. "Fight Club". Sell their own fat @zzes back to them as soap.
  4. We can just leave it at that!
  5. Beef: It's what's for dinner.
  6. From the mouths of babes.
  7. Ah, ya missed the point. Kevin Spacey's soliloquy from "Se7en"...(as John Doe)
  8. It might be that the individual was born that way. With a predisposition for shoving things down their throats.
  9. We see a deadly sin on every street corner...
  10. I'll tell you this: It isn't worth worrying about.
  11. The push to surrender to uniformity is on. Under the guise of freely expressing one's self.
  12. They could still sell both side-by-side. (GMC & Chevy)
  13. Just the name. At one time there were GMC & Chevy Suburbans.
  14. Chevy could have a Denali this n' that with de-contented LTZ-line offerings. Both Chevy & GMC sold the Suburban until the field became overly cluttered in the '90s. That's when the posturing aspect of owning a full-size SUV really took off.
  15. I scanned the first 5 minutes or so and I haven't been in the mood to watch the rest. Maybe tomorrow. I know the faces (most of them) but not all of the names. I saw Bruce Mayberry in there in and he was instrumental in getting my most innocuous suggestion green-lit. (bungee cords screwed onto each cockpit retainer fixture so we wouldn't continue to misplace them, my shining moment) Bungee cords were a medium of exchange when supplies ran low. Ah hell, you had to be there to appreciate it. Innocuous.
  16. Oh please. Pretty decent flattery though PCS. In retrospect, given the circumstances, I knew coming-in that what I smelled that first Monday in-plant was the smell of retirement and the end of my years w/GM. I did team up with my engineering mentor, Fred Schmidt and we set out to correct as many panel fit issues as we could tackle. Week by week. I've been out of touch with most of the organization since earlier this year. One other decent soul still working there, whom I knew from Trenton, is Mike Freeman. Paint specialist extraordinaire. Unequivocally, I can certify (to the best of my knowledge) that those remaining on the job do take their jobs seriously and to heart. Very much so.
  17. I'm not sure. I didn't circulate much beyond the body shop and the 'cockpit' line. But in looking at 'Peaches', she is a visually stunning lady. Her I remember. And that Susan-person. Maybe the most no-nonsense person in GM, extent. We had a discussion re: Fasteners one wet and windy Saturday during my orientation. I loved how my input was solicited then discarded. Tells me that I had a lot of $h!ty ideas. Slow learner's curve.
  18. Neato. Video showing many of the sights you guys may have already seen but here it is again. Inside the Solstice factory. Look for Willie Wonka about 8 minutes in. (ha, ha) http://www.fastlanedaily.com/episode/fld_20090408
  19. Have fun. When the weather breaks I hope you'll be busy until Christmas.
  20. White flour and the Internet have robbed many of their vitality. And $h! like XboX. Now my prejudices come shining through once more. Btw, where's the sun been lately?
  21. That it does though I'll side-step Armageddon until it does come down the street or tries to establish a beach-head. One if by land... The tensions conspire to make people overwrought at times.
  22. Do you feel that the financial reward was lacking? Was there a financial reward?
  23. Back when Chuck Heston was president of the NRA there was a good take-off on him as Moses and as head of the NRA. See you at the Alamo.
  24. The thought-police with their agenda have all of the time they'll need. You referring to Pontiac's present dilemma?
