  1. They aren't, tho. Lexus sold 62 in 2011; its first year. 2015 it was down to 9. By 2019 it was 3. LFA was an enormous flop. 'Channeling its spirit' is an advertising mistake. - - - - - I posted a few days ago that KBB.com's evaluation of my '21 GMC was 109% of what I paid, which garnered a few laughing emoji responses. Just looked at NADA's evaluation, and it's "clean retail" valuation stands at 129% of what I paid for it. 'Clean Retail' is what a dealer would sell it for, supposedly. What a weird automotive time to be living in, where the old 'it's worth half what you bought it for as soon as you drive off the lot' has been thrown out the window.
  2. Previous LFA was $375,000, so that means this will be somewhere around $500,000.
  3. My condolences to you also. I think looking at the positives is absolutely the best. ‘Family’ is often a strange, difficult thing. It can put people together who would otherwise have nothing to do with the other.
  4. 'We don't need no steenking frunk!'
  5. Indiana, 1964 ~
  6. near Gallatin MO ~
  7. Single "21%" released by the band my son drums in, in conjuncture with the official announcement they're now signed to a label.
  8. It's a junkyard / scrap pile. NYC was a horrific dump in many areas in the '70s.
  9. Saw my 2nd Maverick- the first was an unpleasant flat grey, yesterday it was a refreshing burnt orange color. Both were driving, so haven't walked around one yet.
  10. Hard no.
  11. Buick had a very solid performance edge in the '60s, tho; Riviera, Skylark, Wildcat, all available GS-package equipped. 4-speeds & Dual quads, they were in the thick of things. They recreated that performance buzz with the T-Types & GN/ GNXs 20 years after that. I wish the more recent GS had had a serious HP injection, and the smattering of sporty trimmed models since the '60s did, too.
  12. Saw an old VW pickup, the '60s era, restored, done up as a canopy truck, selling some sort of wares at the curb, bedsides folded down.
  13. '30 Ford, before & afta ~
  14. Should look at trucks. 1-yr old Sierra at same site is at 85% value. But go via KBB.com and it's private party value is 96%... vs. sticker. But vs. what I paid, my Sierra is at 109% resale value.
  15. Well, Tesla is a brand, not a model (Bolt, leaf). Moneygeek says the average for a Bolt is $1529, average for a Cruze is $1277. Would love to learn the algorithm that calculates that difference.
  16. ^ Well, Tesla is already #1 in average insurance costs in 49/50 states... so I assume everyone's BE insurance is going to go up noticably. My wonder is; once the aging & poor drivers are all in BE's... are accident/fatality numbers going to keep going up like the last few years (not saying that's primarily due to BE; there aren't enough of them to move the needle yet).
  17. Can't wait to learn some of the insurance rates for 3-sec capable vehicles. I feel like it'll be the early 70s all over again.
  18. Random : Sure- newspapers are readily online, and that makes perfect sense. HOWEVER... it amazes me that a 'source of information' so commonly fails to state what city/State it's located in (online). I shouldn't have to google the newspaper name to find out where it's local to. - - - - - The car I posted earlier, and Rae Ripple, the artist who did the work ~
  19. All original sight lines here :
