Uplander replacement spotted... and has a name!
But there's nothing "Heritage" or "Hot Rod" about it. I think the HHR should stay what it is, a small retro entry vehicle. As far as the minivan, at least it's more contemporary vs a regular minivan. But the Uplander does need replaced.... it should've never came out in the first place. They could've saved $$ and just gave the Venture a facelift and interior upgrade.

pretty close, but the front and rear proportions help the camaro out. Ted, sorry, this is the only pics I took of it. Lots of people around, really hard to get clear shots.

Automotive News: Pontiac future products
Thank the dealers... "we need a small car to sell...waaaa. WAAAA!!" This is pretty much how the Chevy Traverse came into play. GM just needs to stand up for themselves and tell the dealers what they are going to get, not the other way around.

Saw production Camaro in person this weekend
Went up do Detroit this past weekend and GM had one at their booth. Looked good overall, but WOw, this thing is HUGE! Serisouly, it's a big car on the outside. Interior looked decent, could've been trimmed off a bit better but overall looked good.

Volt update from chief engineer
http://gm-volt.com/2008/08/13/chevy-volt-u...ing-in-our-way/ Seem to me that the drive setup would already have been taken care of... and $10k to replace the battery? One better hope it'll run well past the 150k mile warranty period to make buying the car worthwhile.

Class action lawsuit
yeah I got it also for my '03 Av, never had an issue so I threw the paperwork in the shredder.

Production Volt - Video Sneak Peak
There is some truth to that, however if gas was to hit mid $4's to $5 a gallon, people will walk into the chevy dealer and hand their wallet right over to the salesman.

Over 33,000 buyers signed up for GM electric car
Saw this on GM-volt.com earlier today. But doesn't sound like it's got a whole lot of significance, since all I'd have to do is type in my email and I'd be put on the "list" as well. Still good to see non the less.

TELL THE FEDS TO FREEZE THE REGS!
another reason so everything is getting so expensive in this country... Layers and frivalous lawsuits. No matter what, someone will find something to sue for. And it's complete BS that this sh!t get's through the judicial system.

Lutz Loves His First Volt "Test Drive"
The Prius is a poor solution for vast majority of buyers, even for most of the people that bought one. Like I noted in another post, they could've bought a Cobalt for half the money, and would've taken 20 years to recoupe the cost difference... and that's driving 20k miles a year! But that's shot out of the water because in 20yrs you be replaceing the Prius's batteries more than once. Mitsu has nothing in the US Ford has vague proto's, no production ready proto's. Specifically the reason why that want to team up with GM on the production and research of the Volts Li-Ion battery pack. Another 10k in a dull Prius will put you at the Volt's price, which is bound to come down. GM has had 100 Hydrogen Equinox' out driving around for the past couple years

Production Volt - Video Sneak Peak
No, USD... a loaded Prius MSRP's at over $28k with people paying a few thousand over that to get one. I for one could never justify the cost, not when I can get a Cobalt and pay half the price for 10 less mpg's. At 20k miles a year, I'd only save $500 a year in gas with the Prius over the Cobalt. It'd take me 20 years to recoupe the cost difference, too bad I'd be buying a new set of batteries for the Prius more than once in that time.

Exactly, new loaded Prius' are selling for well into the $30k range. People will spend dollars to save pennies.

The best midsize Chevrolet in 30 years
Yup, first car was a '89 Bonneville SSE, had 215k on it and a tree took it out... ok, I hit the tree. ran great otherwise. Another car I had was a '90 Bonneville, had 225k on it when I gave it away. Current commuter car is a '00 Alero with 245k on the clock, still runs and shifts great. Other than rutine maintanence, only had to replace the oil sending unit seal and a front broken coil spring.

Production Volt - Video Sneak Peak
I meant to post this a couple days ago but never got to it... From what I see the design is very nice. I'm liking the front end better than the concepts front end. The interior is looking fabulous at this point.

Lutz Loves His First Volt "Test Drive"
That's what I like about Lutz... blunt and to the point. Unfortunatly I missed the show, didn't remember it until after it was over. I hope they re-air it soon.
