Choppin' Competition 3 - STS-V
I'm just using Adobe photoshop. It came free when I bought my computer 3-4 years ago. My entry is pretty much done... nothing wild. How many other entries will there be?

Chevy Camaro Concept Slated for '06 Detroit Show
I'd be suprised not to see some sort of concept from GM. Even if they don't, GM isn't the only automaker at the auto show! There's a lot to see... not to mention the hotties modling the cars!! I go every year. Am just 2 hrs from D-town.

Major Oil leak on '00 ALero
MGZ06, the same thought was in the back of my head. The area just below the cam cover was too dry and just under the manifold is soaked. The coolant is clean which made me think that it maybe wasn't a head gasket, but it's not to say it's only bad where the oil jackets are. It's actually my g/f's car, luckily her step bro-in-law is a head mechanic at a GM dealer and is doing a lot of side work out of his shop at home.... soooo labor should be pretty reasonable. I may go over some night to lend a hand. Car is there now.

Major Oil leak on '00 ALero
No it's not the oil filter or drain plug. 2000 Alero 2.4L twin cam motor. Just started leaking BAD. From underneath the car looking up, it looks like the oil is coming from somewhere around the manafold area (cam cover, head gasket???) and running down the backside of the motor. Underside of car is covered pretty good. Just went down 1 qt of oil on a 120 mile drive. Seems that if it were the head gasket I'd have coolant issues too? The back side of the cam cover just above the manifold looks a little oily but not like it does below the manifold. Whole back side of motor under manifold is covered with oil. Any thoughts before I tear into this thing? Thanks Buddy P [email protected]

2006 Chevrolet
All that is saying is that since GM is taking a second look at the car, that NASCAR is awaiting a final production unit to make their decisions for the MC stock car design. It has nothing to do with Nascar not approving GM's design in itself.

Fuel costs raise doubts for GM SUVs
I agree that it will hurt the SUV's but truck sales should stay the same. Most of the poeple that buy trucks buy them because they use/need them. Most SUV buyers just want the lavishness and bling. I am in the market right now for a Avalanche, hoping I can pick a used one up cheap from people trying to dump them for Honda Civic's. But I'm buying one because I need to pull a 22' enclosed trailer with it. Otherwise I would be buying a car. I've always been more of a car guy.

First Z06 numbers from mags!
After getting all giddy when reading these numbers, I just received my R&T mag today that had quit a difference in performance numbers for the Z06.... 0-60 in 4.2 1/4 mile in 12.3 at 116.6 mph .98g skidpad 0-100 9.0 sec. 113ft 60-0 Those numbers are off considerably from the numbers noted in this post. Were those numbers for sure the consumer Z06? I don't have my MT mag yet so I can't compare but a .8 sec difference in the 1/4 miles is Huge!!!

Opel Astra Twin Top
sharp looking car!

And the Impalas...
It is boring and bland looking, saying that that's what it is is a poor excuse. I would buy a bonneville way before the new Impala... I would buy a lot of cars before the new Impala. Sorry, it just does nothing for me at all.

any word/heard rumor
That car is custom built off of a GTO by Steve Sandlin. It has nothing to do with GM development. Steve also built a badass '57 chevy convertable with a LS1 running 8 turbo's putting out 730hp. You can see more pics and detail of both of these cars at www.lateral-g.net

Hydrogen cars? Autonomy?
Does anybody think that GM will try and push these cars out for production sooner than expected? Or have the oil companies bought them off to keep fuelies? In a recent MT or R&T mag there was a GM ad in there that made a notion about hydrogen vehicles then had a "Shell" logo on the bottom of the page also (basically showed GM and Shell as partnering up on the Hydro thing). I remember reading a Popular Mechanics back some years ago about the Autonomy and that GM had set down with Exxon originally about the hydrogen idea and going in on setting up hydrogen stations, Exxon basically said that they weren't interested and didn't think that there would ever be an interest in hydrogen and more or less just walked out of the meeting. Any news on any of this?

Spy shots from Autoweek
That is sharp looking! VERY sharp looking. Why all the bland designs for the US??? I could see that parked in my driveway... you'll never see a Equinox parked in my driveway. What do you think about that GM?
