GM working on 7-/8-speed transmissions
maybe i'm behind the times, but the last time i thought about buying a car i didnt put into factor it wasnt a 20 way power seat... but i dont care about power this and that because i see that as 20 different ways that seat can stop working. pillow in the seat? 7.1 surround? thats things i would look for in a living room not my car. i am probably speaking for myself and i know these are 45-55K dollar cars but i know that when it comes to me... who gives a $h*t about a seat.

GM working on 7-/8-speed transmissions
i also am among those who wonder why shift past 6... my colorado churns 2200 on the interstate at 85-90mph. 5th would be nice but in a smaller engine wouldnt you just be going 4-5-6...7....8...7...8... is there really enough torque to justify 7 and 8?

Tundra adds cheaper models to try and boost sales
i got 2 friends at work that complain about 17" rims on trucks. they want 15" so you can put just about any tire you want for off road on there. my dad has an 04' Z85 with GM 20's on it... but then again the last 4x4 he owned and used for that purpose was in 78

OnStar Stolen Vehicle Slowdown Service coming in '09
this is going to make three key people happy. insurance company, owner, and body shops( less happy than the fisrt two though). no need for spike strips or pit manuvers to bring them to a hault. i thought they were going to start using guns that hit fleeing vehicles with emp charges though... does that use the bar with prongs or is that just in the movies?

United Auto Workers union gives notice of potential strike.
exactly... whoever heard of an investment/financial company intentionally losing their butts... just doesnt look good on the record when they do. they got no stake in it, the ceo doesnt get money until out of the red so whats to lose if they whore out chrysler to the highest bidder?

08 Chargers
yep, and some adults that sit in the back seat of the charger are going to hit their head on back window twice as much than in the g8. in your face pontiac and your accomidating green house. other than that comment i just made i think the srt-8s were the best thing to happen to the chargers. theres nothing to compare to it except for the defunked gto but it was meant for competing with other stuff than the chargers... wish you could get an srt-8 in the surf blue... could pick one up on the cheap used in a few years.

First shots of the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V
why would anyone pay decent money for a 100k mile used car except for a high school beater? any new car loses value when you drive it off the lot. theres an 06 vette at our local dealership with 7k miles on it for 40 grand whats your point? so you can get a v series caddy on the cheap if its used... thats a duh statement in itself... that makes it cheap luxury performance that can still spank lexMW's. now thats funny and true.

Two new powerful V8s on GM's NG C3XX pickups
hehe well if you scroll up the header does say gms biggest fans... the majority are going to trumpet gm's success of course. but heres what i like about the whole thing Gm has 4 engines to choose from while yota only got 2. theres 4 choices between the 5.3 alone so 7 if you want to get technical. i dont see a need for the 4.3 but the 4.8 is standard except work trucks, 5.3 is general duty, then 6.0 for stump pulling. kinda limited when you go to the circle T ranch in my opinion. hopefully the 5.x will be the 5.7 and will be a notch above whatever japan can throw at it. the 6.2 will be hands down but thats kinda being bullyish pitting them against each other.

First shots of the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V
1 - of course its going to make more torque, it has more mules pulling the wagon than the zo6 if you will. while we are at it why dont we debate the benifits over a 2.2 turbo and a 6.0 turbo from lingenfelter... thats a short conversation too. 2 - does it really work that way? didnt know you could bore and stroke a motor out that far and still have reliabilty and performance at the same time. im being honest, not sarcastic here i really didnt know ( but i dont actually think its that easy or i would have a 7.0 in my colorado by now)

Two new powerful V8s on GM's NG C3XX pickups
if i aint mistaken... didnt nissan beat toyota to the dohc scene with the v8 titan? i really dont think the yota 5.7 is a good role model what with the whole cam self destruct option. even if it wasnt the manufatures fault that calamity still is their responsibility. i havent seen anyone around here towing anything with a camry or an accord but i am not about to put it past some dummy out there. after all i saw a vette towing a pontoon once... oh wait that was a push rod v8 doing that though.

Two new powerful V8s on GM's NG C3XX pickups
quite possibly the only way to go down in displacement and make power is to at 2 more pistons and then decrease the size... but who wants a truck that sounds like and indy car? oh you could go diesel as the other choice... not everyone needs those unless you carry your stuff to work on a goose neck.

Two new powerful V8s on GM's NG C3XX pickups
how great would it be for the 5.X to be a new 5.7 make it 10hp less than the yota but better on gas and about the same in torque. being outdone by someone with less is always good for pissin somebody off.

First shots of the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V
i thought that was the whole point of having a supercharged pushrod v8.. to be loud and unrefined. i know i would want to hear that beast. that way when you go flyin past the local geezers they throw up their fist and scream dern fool kids! course come to think of it, since this is a caddy it may be the import high school kids saying "why old people gotta ruin our fun" as a 60 yr old in a cts-v owns them at a light.
