  2. yeah taurus is starting the Phase out probably the increased Fie hundred sales are due to taking over some of the Taurus fleet sales (as was expected) the fact that Freestar (the minivan) outsold the expedition is horrifying Fusion is doing well - 13k is pretty good oh and Five Hndred is outselling its archrival the Avalon again .... way to go. And the fact that the 07 are at Enterprise lots before being on the dealerlots is sad..... GM needs to stop with this .. Igor

did not know that ... it is taller than the europ HB though, I am sure in that ... but I never sat in an actual corolla.. just rented a Vibe once for a 1000 mile trip. anyways... Igor

Paolino .. first, props for just asking things like this on a board... I can tell you there are plenty boards out there that would burst into huge christian witch burning backlash, with the mods and adminds standing by doing nothing - I know I have been there. Second, on your original question - I am a lucky one - going to a liberal arts college - and one of the extremely liberal - most of my firieds are queer men and women, or at least very upenly fine with it ... I have to say I really have only 1 or 2 good friends who simply do not talk about it ... And about your second question - you might be fine and happy with just the straight social circle, but I would not close off the source of at least acquaintances through the channels mentioned abpove - bowling, choir, etc.... These people might also be a nice touch of "different" when the family get-togethers get tired ... and finally.. not hanging out with any queer folk.. how will you find a partner? - probably not among the married guy (although you never know ) - it is just healthy to have differen social groups, and hanging out with people unburdened by the boring duties of paenthood is usually quite fun and refreshing. I hope I make sense and helped. Igor

the HB will not make it... TMS USA will restyle the exterior, but the interior will stay. the Matrix = EUDM Corolla Verso - it has taller rof that regular HB... so this is not it.. and finally.. isn't the NG Vibe going to use this platform again? Igor
  7. LOL .. I would not do it in a truck (those things scare) but I would drift to no end if I could Actually - I did drive Expedition for 4 years - that should count :AH-HA_wink: EDIT And I mean the real kind of drift, not the "handrake" one.. Igor
  8. It says that i need to be "at least seriously considering" RWD.... and truth to be said, I am Igor
  9. My name is Igor I do drive a FWD, but well - can't afford a RWD at this point I drive Mazda3 - the best FWD car under $30k I despise Toyota My RWD of choice - right now the 3-series (D'oh) but would much more prefer to give my bussiness to the Blue Oval if they finally get their act together - and the SWB Zetas are shaping up to be hot as well... Igor
  10. Why can;t GM figure out that "eterior sliding" moonroof is about the ugliest thing one can do to a car... other than that... nice pics and beautiful car... I will be watching how it will do . Igor

the problem will be that people will go to a Chevy dealer and ay.. how much for the Cobalt.. and they say X and then they will go to the Pontiac dealer and way how much they sa Y .. and then they say.. I can get the Cobalt for X .. go lower... This will not add any sales to Gm ..just Pontiac dealers... and will add no profit. the biggest news about FOrd's fusion was not that it sold.. but that as of May, almost half of the buyers traded in NON-FORD vehicle... almost half were new Ford customers.. and that is what realyl counted ... Igor

you realize I was not the person you were originally responding to, right ? BTW .. I am on the same boat.. unless i can afford a RWD performance car like BMW 3 series, my next car is a diesel (hybrid) wagon.... probabl from one of the FoMoCo divisions... unless they do not have any, then I will look elsewhere... Diesels are the way of the future.. and it is about time US realized that. Igor

Well for one by making a car a plug in - you add batteries making it further less economical once the juice is gone and you are running on gas Then you are aadding to the upfron costs. .hybrids are already expensive, and adding more batteries, wiring and whatnot will further up the price. Third, Ford is still struggling to figure out how to make the system such that something like an electric surge will not toast your 40k vehicle . - or simply damage something that would be claimed as warranty defect. And finally, the 80mpg is very misleading.. I am waiting for people to finally start reporting the "miles per megawatt" of their electric engines so wee can see who much they use.. in regular hybrids this is not necessary, since the electricity is free, but with plug ins, you are actualyl PAYING for the electricity going to your car.. If you consider that running your Central air can rack up good $200 mothly electric bill, how much do you think charging a huge battery pack every day will run you.... Plug - ins are a good idea, but for now a lot of people have their reservations .. because of the fact that they are simply shifting the cost from GAS to ELECTRICITY .. plug ins are a super niche vehicles. Of course, this is besides the fact that Gas electric hybrids are pure and simple fad... a simple Diesel engine could beat Toyota's precious invention ... I am waiting to see which one of big three will finally bring over a good 4 or 6 cyl Diesel to be dropped in a midsize sedan, and put Camry Hybrid's 39mpg to shame by simple old school technology. (now imagine that diesel paired with a hybrid, putting the Prius to shame) Igor

this is such bul.. buth DCX and Gm are losing huge sales in both cars and trucks, beause they do not have anything fuelefficient buyers want... ford on the other hand in May was up in car sales... up some 6 % as it is managing to catch the customers that are switching away from BOF suv's and Trucks... GM and DCX were not able to capture these buyers (with the exception of Caliber - we'll see how that will continue) EDIT How does this reflect how well the ycan attract a mileage conscious buyer.. it punishes the Big3 for their sucess with trucks... and rewards Toyota and Honda for their failure to build respectable trucks people want to buy... instead thy should have looked at each segment that is in question: B segment, Csegment, Cd segment, D segment and see what offerings are there.. they would see the Gm has 35mpg Aveo, and 35mpg Cobalt and some 31mpg Malibu Ford has no B, but has 37mpg Focus, 32mpg Fusion.... how are these uncompetitive? .. I do not know.. Igor
